Monty Stories

Rainbow Bridge

Today we had to put Monty to sleep. He had kidney failure. Our hearts are broken today. He has been our loyal friend for 15.5 years.

lil' sis beat me up!

Well we just got back from the emergency vet clinic. I walked in the door from my son's karate class and Monty was covered in blood. We had been gone from the house for 35 minutes. Lil' miss sweet polite maggie I guess had had enough of monty's non-stop whining and just attacked him. There is a really bad puncture wound on the side of his neck...a not so bad one on the back of his neck...and several other minor ones here and there. There is a bad area on his foot where a flap of skin got torn back.

The vet shaved around the wounds and patched him up. He said no stitches he rather just have the wounds open to drain. They gave him an antibiotic and some pain meds.

So now he is resting comfortably in his kennel.

I was married right out of college. I had to go to campus to pick up a transcript one afternoon. Monty and my new husband came with me. The building the registrar's office was in was glass and you could see outside from the staircase. As I was walking back down the stairs I noticed my new husband surrounded by a dozen sorority girls all literally rolling on the ground in front of my husband playing with monty. I sat and watched for a solid 10 minutes thinking of ways to use this against him. The poor man kept glancing up at the building. You could almost see the sweat on his brow worrying that I would catch him with all these young beautiful women. Of course it was Monty they were all interested in. So if you want to meet women borrow a chihuahua puppy from a friend and hang out in a park or on a college campus!!!
