Mom can't take me to the park, people are afraid of me...
She says that the Battle Creek Police Department has murdered 9 Pit Bulls in the last 30 days. The ones that they didn't shoot on site, they siezed with a warrant and took them from their home.
>sigh<
What did I do to deserve this?

Hello Dogsters...I know it's been a loooooong time since I've added to my diary, but something really cool happened...I won a prize in our local pet photo contest!!!
Now, mom didn't dress me up or anything fancy like that (i hate "dressing up"). I went to the photography studio with mom one afternoon and met a couple of great guys that like to play, and they took my picture in between games....
Mom chose the photo she liked the most and entered it for a donation of 20 lbs of dog food for the shelter....
Although I am VERY photogenic...It was not my handsome profile that got me the win...the category I won was "Largest Dog". Mom said we won a gift certificate to the local Doggie Day Spa.
Very Cool, I had fun, met new friends, lots of lovin and treats...
What more could a guy ask for?
Winning photo to be posted soon

Merry Christmas Dogsters!!!
Boy did I have fun! Everybody gave me gifts, lots and lots of toys and treats.
Mom made cookies and shared some of the ones she broke with me. (but not too many)
Daddy gave me a great big chew bone and I ate every crumb. (I think he's really a big softee)
Aunt Chris gave me a basket with PB Smakums, a bag with a squeaky frog, a ball, and all kinds of toys in it.
I couldnt go to grammas this year, but mom brought home some leftovers to share with me.
I felt so nice today that I didn't even chase that rotten yellow tomcat when I caught him in my yard today. (I must be gettin soft too)
Well, mom just cleaned up the house and vacuumed, time for me to undo all her hard work...she should know better by now.

50 degrees and sunny...in Michigan, in DECEMBER no less. Mom didnt have to work as much as she usually does. We got to walk alot this week. The river runs thru the park where we go and there are ducks and geese that hang out at the edge of the river. I had NEVER seen or heard a goose in my life.
As we were walking by, I heard this awful noise and this HUGE grey goose came running at me with its wings spread wide hissing at me like a cat. I wasn't quite sure what to do...Mom always told me not to pick on the birds at home, but this one was alot bigger than Buster the lovebird or Roscoe the Cockatiel...so I just tried to avoid him. He followed us for awhile, hissing and making this awful honking sound. I really wasnt comfortable with him following so I walked bakwards so I could keep an eye on that giant noisemaker. He got bored and gave up after awhile.
So now, in addition to possums in my backyard, squirrels mocking me, that nasty yellow tomcat invading my yard, NOW I have to worry about a MEAN gray goose harassing me on my walks....it's a dogs life...what next?
We also went to the Vet (again) because mom thought I had a cold. WHAT A WORRY WART!!! My special friend Darian (she's a cute little 10 year old human) came with us. She loves me so much she carries my picture with her every day in her back pack! Well the vet said it was just allergies and told mom I was fine. It was worth the trip though, I got to hang out with Darian, Mommy and of course, got a TREAT from the vet for being such a good boy.
Well, time for me to pester mom with the tennis ball again...more later!

I know my mom likes to take me out to meet new people, but I could have gone my ENTIRE LIFE without meeting this guy.
Mom asked me if I wanted to go for a ride....(silly question) so off we go. We went to a pet store, which under normal circumstances, I just love. But there were alot of dogs and people and noise and barking, it was almost overwhelming.
We ran into my Aunt Ava, who works with the Kalamazoo ASPCA, she was there to help some dogs find forever homes. I remember hearing something about "Santa" and "pictures" but there was sooooo much going on that I couldn't really pay close attention.
I went with mom to the front of the store and all these people were petting me and I was making some new dog friends when I saw HIM....
This guy in a red suit and hat with white gloves and a loooong white beard....not cool. Mom made me go up and sit with him for a picture, but I wanted no part of it, I was looking for the exit. It was my Uncle Doug in a Santa suit but I didn't know who he was under all that red fur and white hair.
When the terror was over everyone was petting me, even strangers, telling me what a good boy I was and that maybe pitbulls arent so scary after all.
It was horrible, I was terrified, and mommy felt kinda bad about it, but it's all good now. Now I'm safe at home, Santa is just a bad memory (mom keeps laughing at the picture) and I'm tired out. So I'm going to take a nap. If you'd like to see my humiliation first-hand, the picture is in my Dogster photo album.
LAUGH IT UP KIDS...it'll never happen again.

It got COLD outside and I've decided that I just don't care for it. I dont WANT to go out and pee at 6:30 in the morning when it's 35 degrees, snowing, raining, whatever. Mom has to literally push me out the door, I can hold it though, I'm a big boy!
She got me this AWFUL suede and fleece coat, I hated it, she put it on me and I absolutely WILL NOT WEAR IT! She forced me into it, so I did what any sensible kid would do...I threw a tantrum. Then I laid down and refused to move until she took it off. Mom gave it to Maggie May (she has her own dogster site)...good luck Mags...
I do, however, enjoy my hoody sweat shirt, its a little more manly, and alot more comfortable. I'll put some pics up of me wearing it soon.
Mom mentioned something about the vet, shots, I didnt catch all that but I'm sure its no big deal.
Mom put some new pictures on my page so check 'em out.

Its been a BUSY week around here! Mommy got a new car...and for some reason I can not ride in the front seat of this one....
Its been hard getting used to riding in the back, but mom put my blanket acrooss the seat and I have the WHOLE thing to myself, TWO WINDOWS, NO WAITING!!!.
It smelled funny when I first got to check it out, but I did my best to give it a complete once-over. I must say...It's a bit smaller than what I'm used to, but I gave my approval.
Gramma brought over some more stuff...mostly stuff for mom, but of course, I got some stuff too. A stuffed rabbit, which I promptly shredded on the front porch, and some frisbees...
These things look like plates to me...so I EXPECTED mom to fill 'em with food...she didn't...bummer. She kept throwing them across the yard expecting ME to bring them back to her, sheesh. They're not as much fun as tennis balls, but they tasted ok...so I chewed them to peices. Those silly things won't be flying anywhere anytime soon.
Daddy is still taking me for those "bike rides" even though he hurt his foot. He's ok. We're not going as fast or far as we were going before, but at least I get to run run run.
Those pesky squirrels are worse than ever, the walnuts are falling off the trees out back and theres SO MANY SQUIRRELS!!! I don't know which one to chase first. And yes, that rotten yellow tomcat is still skulking around. I dont think my barking has much of an effect on him anymore, he ignores me. (stupid cat)
Well, it's time for my evening patrol of the backyard...nite!!!

HI!!!
What a day!!! Mommy went outside to get something out of her car last evening and I figured, as long as she was out there, I'd patrol my back yard. Good thing I did, not only was that rotten yellow tomcat back there, but he had a couple of friends, a black cat, and of all things...a big nasty possum.
Of course I HAD to let everyone know, so I started barking, the cats went one way and the possum went straight up a tree. By the way...I do NOT chase cats...thats just mean, I just bark at 'em. I was very proud of myself. I wanted to go back to the tree and make sure that possum didn't come down anytime soon, but mom was a spoil-sport and made me come in the house.
Daddy came home with a new toy last night, a big 'ol mountain bike. He decided that instead of a walk/jog every evening...that WE were gonna go for a bike ride. Just so you all know...when he says "we", he means "he". My part was to run along side (how gracious of him).
Ya know...it wasn't too bad, considering I LOVE to run. I was sooooo tired that I skipped dinner and went right to bed. I'm ready to go again today, but right now it's too hot.
I guess I'll just lay around the back porch today and make sure that no more trespassers come into my yard.

I am a little upset with my mom. Gramma and Grampa brought all this different furniture over to my house. And for two days mom has been moving things around;
1. MY toybox
2. MY food dish
3. MY crate
Well, you get the idea. So while all this shuffling is going on...nobody pays attention to the most important thing of all...ME!
She's finally finished and the dust has settled. It looks REALLY different around here. I suppose I'll get used to it.
It wasn't all bad...some of the stuff was wrapped in some neat smelling old blankets, mom gave me one to play with. Well I have to go out before bed and make sure that old yellow tomcat isn't skulking arournd my porch again.
Goodnight!

I finally got to get out of the house today, the weather was PERFECT.
I woke mom up early, all I have to do is sit by the bed and staaaaaaarrrrre at her long enough, and she wakes up.
We loaded up and went to Discount Pet Store (they love me there). I was quite the gentleman. Everyone came up and smiled and said hi to me, I even got some lovin and pets on the head. One elderly lady just fawned over me, scratched my ears and told me how handsome I am. (ALL the ladies love me!)
I had to be careful and not jump up, her cane kinda made me nervous but it was ok. I got to pick out my own treat, as usual. I picked out a big pressed rawhide bone (MAN I love those things)
There was another bully there too, she made ALOT of noise! we wanted to play but my mom and her dad said that there wasnt enough room for us to run around. She was quite the pretty girl.
After a little more love and a couple of treats, mom and I went to the park for my favorite....PLAYTIME! I have this special leash, its really long leash and mom just lets me run around the big field looking for....well, something. We rested under a big tree and I had a drink of water, then it was back in the car.
When I got home, my buddy Sugar was outside with her mom so of course I had to be neighborly and go say hello. And then...the best of all...I found a stray NERF football in my backyard. I think the kids that live behind me lost it over the fence (if they only knew). I hid behind moms car and before she could catch me, I had picked it apart into a million little tiny pieces! It looked like a NERF explosion. FUN FUN FUN! Mom used some pretty strange words while she was picking up the pieces...thats humans for ya.
All in all, I'd say I've had a pretty good day. If I can avoid the bath that mom has planned for me, it'll be perfect (yes mom, I saw you buy the shampoo at the pet store, your not as slick as you think you are!)
