Arrival Story:
Bridget spent her first 2.5 years in a no-kill shelter in Bristol, Wisconsin, and had such severe separation anxiety for the first three months that she destroyed three crates, my pantry (it's very large and had its own window, so after she destroyed the crates I tried confining her in there during the day (ok, a single morning while she ate it)), custom-made horizontal blinds and my pants.

Bio:
Bridget died of cancer of the spleen July 15, 2009. Bridget was the March, 2003 "Punk Pet of the Month" (www.mydarndog.com) for the ravages that she's done to my house! Congratulations, Pooh-Bear, for the $1500+ in damages you've wrought! (Yes, I actually AM kind of proud of her. She may be destructive, but she's VERY successful at it.)

CRITTERS!!!!!!

I LOVE FALL. The squirrels are all hyper and fat and sassy, and mommy feeds them and the birds. They're not really bright, either - sometimes they don't notice me when I first come out and stay by the bird feeder eating. I'm going to get one of them yet!!!! I try to climb the pine tree after them; sometimes I get so mad that I start biting the tree. There's possums, too, in the grapevines along the fence - I just know that some day one of them is going to fall down and I can get it. But the one I did get, it just lay on the ground, and then mommy pulled me away and put me in the house. Mommy said it was "playing possum" and that it got up and waddled away once I got stuffed in the house. That is SO unfair. In the house, I get to chase my cabbit - he's such fun! We romp and chase and play - sometimes he attacks me from the back of the chair, or I chase him under the dining room table and we play nibble. And that orange boy that mommy got last year - he always wants to snuggle with me, when he's not stealing my food! 'Course, I steal his, too, so I guess we're even. But he can't have my bone or my greenies!

Ooooh, the puggies have come out to play! I run around the yard in circles, and Schwarz, the black one, he chases me everywhere. I chase him, too - he's not nearly as fast as I am, but he turns corners much better. It's so funny - when he runs, his tail uncurls and drags on the ground because he's got his rump so low to the ground. But boy, for such a short dog, he's REALLY fast! Then we play growl and nibble, and for some reason he's fixated on cleaning my ears. They get all wet and goobery, but I like it. And he nurses all the time, too! I mean, I think he's not that much younger than me, but he acts like there's going to be milk. I don't think there ever will be (mommy said I was "fixed" and can't ever have puppies), but since he's about the size of a puppy, I let him.

Well, I have to go now - there's a DOG walking on the sidewalk in front of my house, and I have to tell it that this is MY house, with my squirrels and my possums, and while it can come and play, it can't stay.
