Before I was rescued, my name was Chico and my life was one of neglect. Frustrated and bored, I spent hours surfing the Internet for something to set me free. One day I discovered a tribute to Harry Houdini. Inspired by this legendary human, I began rigorous training to become a canine escapologist.
I quickly learned to break out of my backyard, but each escape ended in the local animal shelter. My training had not prepared me for this impenetrable fortress. Locked in a cold prison I began to lose hope, fearing my life was over. I became despondent and ill.
One night I had a vivid dream. My muse Houdini appeared inside my cell. He looked into my big brown eyes and said, "Do not lose faith, my four-legged friend. It is your destiny to continue my work. Believe in yourself and you will escape this dark place."
To be continued...
