My day at the Dodge County Fair

Today my kid and I went to the Dodge County Fair (nine counties participate). We were in intermediate showmanship first. We had to follow Griffin in the ring, so we were often left in the dust, with a big dog right behind us as well. We did pretty well. Enough to get a purple ribbon. My boy was shy and didn't really know what to say when the judge told him to tell him all about me.

Then we did Beg. Novice B obedience. We work well together. If only my boy would remember to loosen the leash more. I'm not sure what I was thinking when asked to do my finish after the recall. I must have been daydreaming but I needed to be asked twice and then guided with a leash. We still did well enough to get reserve champion. Not bad if I must say so myself.

We tried our go at agility today for the first time ever. We got one practice run, and the jumps were okay, I had no clue what to do on the elevated walk, but after being shown and drug across once I got it. I also didn't mind the tunnel, but my leash caught on the cinder block holding the tunnel and slowed us down a little. We had fun, and finished with a purple ribbon with time of 39 seconds. Yeah!

Last week at the Dodge County Fair, I won reserve winners trophy in showmanship. Granted mom pointed out my kid made some mistakes handling but we work pretty well together. In obedience we got a blue ribbon, we still needed lots of practice.

Yesterday at the Sarpy County Fair we got reserve winners in Showmanship again (though no trophy) with a score of 98.5/100. In obedience we got trophy with a score of 141/160 and our judge was pretty tough with the scoring for beginners, but she pointed out as beginners we don't want to move up to the next class before we are ready.

Later we went to the lake and watched the geese swim, it was relaxing.

Yesterday we went to the Summer Art Festival downtown. It was fun, but really nobody paid attention to me unless they felt sorry for me after oooing and goooing over Siren and Griffin. I listened well though, and showed off a few tricks to the toddlers whom seemed to enjoy my size and calmness. Overall it was a good day.

Mom took us to the dog party at the humane society. It was fun. She bought me a hat, cuz people loved Griffin, and the "real" poodle, but everyone ignored me. Mom says it's because I'm so well behaved nobody notices me.It was fun to smell the other dogs, and food cooking and watch the activities going on. I hope we get to that again soon.

Yeah, yesterday I got to go to Jodi's. It's so much fun there. I get to run free and chase the other dogs around. I get to wander to see the horses and other animals. All kinds of fun things to roll in as well. Mom says I now need a bath, that part I hate. Oh, well it was fun anyway.

Well, mom took me to work again. I knew it was time for a new design when the big black box came with us. I am now sporting a purple rose, with red/pink hearts all over my body. I have a cupid shooting an arrow as well. Oh, and of course red nail polish. Boy did people point and stare at me. It makes me happy when people notice me.

What I found even funnier....a few days later Siren went to work with mom. And for the first time ever he came home with a red tail and hearts on him. I had fun laughing at him, he thought he was special enough to avoid the artwork. Now we get to sport artwork together.

Santa at the mall

Mom painted a tree on me today, she even glued itty bitty lights on the tree. I should have known something was up. Grandma came over and the kids got dressed up, then out came my leash and tried really hard to run and hide. I so hate car rides. We went to this HUGE place and went inside. There was a line of kids which I really wanted play with but mom made me behave. Everyone kept commenting on my Christmas tree and asking to pet me, though Siren got more attention.

Then we got to see this guy in a red suit, mom says that it is Santa and to be nice so I get good stuff on Christmas day. I didn't really mind, mom drags me all over the place making me meet new people. I hate having my picture taken so I scrunched my ears to show my displeasure. But I stayed right where mom put me and looked at the lady like mom said. The elves said Siren and I were better behaved then some chidren. Overall it was kinda fun. Normally we only get to go inside the petstore. Though recently mom heard Menards and Bed, Bath and Beyond allow well behaved pets to shop. Mom has to check that out for sure though.

A trip to the dog park

My mom and kids took me to the fairly new dog park. I've been once before but only a couple dogs were there last time. This time there were a handful of small dogs in the small dog area. Siren had never gone before so we started there. It wasn't much fun playing with just Siren so mom took us to the all dog area. I saw 2 dogs I run into at mom's work so I took off playing with them. Siren wouldn't leave mom's leg, apperantly he's scared of them. I had a blast the area is really big and big dogs are so much more fun. I was covered in doggy slobber when I left. I hope we go back more often, though I'd be fine with Siren staying home.

I went to a bunch of Halloween festivities today. At the first one I won best dressed pet for my Yoda costume. Then my people drug me to another trick or treat thing where numerous strangers asked me to pose for them. Then we stopped at the grand opening of a Petsmart in our town and got more attention. Then yet on to one more trick or treat activity and more attention. I'm all worn out now I can't remember the last time I had so much attention.

I am SO embarrassed

I can not believe what my mother has done to me. I tried really hard to avoid looking at the camera in hopes she would give up and not take this picture. I have been transformed into YODA. The only tiny bit of dignity I scraped together was because my human siblings have been transformed into Darth Vader, Anakin, and Queen Amidala. They are as funny looking as I am.

I had wondered what she was doing yesterday with the sewing maching. She kept measuring me and giving me a treat for sitting by her while she worked. Today she pulled this out and giggled lots and drug us to the park to take pictures so we could send out cards to family. Everyone will see this picture of me. How embarrassing. My lightsaber even glows when she puts in a glow bracelet.

While at the park I watched a little poodle barely escaped being eaten by some type of pitbull mix. The mix jumped out the owners car window and took off after the little poodle. The poodle's mom didn't know what to do, as she had two infants in wagon as well. She picked up the poodle as the dog ran towards her but it didn't help much. She dropped her dog's lead and let it run while the bully's dad threw stuff at him to distract him and drag him away. After we made sure the poodle was okay, we left...to scary.
