What a Drama Queen

Dear Diary:

First the holidays, then the cleaning up after the holidays, and then a special weekend guest. It has been just crazy at my house for such a long time. My big brother Tucker tells me Christmas comes only once a year. And I have to admit, I’m kind of glad.

My very first Christmas was a blast. My Uncle Dave came to visit me, he’s just the greatest! He brought Tucker and me cool toys and I am embarrassed to admit it, but we have chewed through them already.

I met a man named Santa Claus at Petsmart. He’s a jolly old guy with a really soft red suit and a white beard. I liked Santa, I kind of wanted to take a nap on his lap. I’ll have to ask Mom to buy me a red velvet snuggle ball made from the same material as Santa’s coat.

Mom decorated the house and we had a Christmas tree. I liked the Christmas tree, it was very pretty and smelled good too. I was kind of sad to see it go. One day it was there, then the next day it was gone. Tucker knows something about the tree and where it went but he is keeping it a secret. Whatever!

And then last week my puppy sitter went to California. That meant Tucker and I had to stay home all week when Mom went to work. Boring! On Friday, Mom came home with a great surprise! She brought Charlie, my puppy sitter’s dog to our house for the weekend.

It seems Charlie is a big Momma’s boy. He was very sad that his Mom left him alone. In defense of my puppy sitter, she HARDLY left him alone! He has a wonderful Grammy and nieces and family to play with. All I have is Tucker….. Charlie doesn’t know how lucky he is.

Boys can be such Drama Queens, Tucker too. Yesterday Mom took me, Tucker, and Charlie for a play date with our good friend Maeve. Maeve is a Border Collie.

We were all playing when Mom suddenly got all flustered. Tucker broke a nail. BROKE A NAIL! Boo hoo! What a babay.

Tucker played and played and got disgusting blood all over the place. He wasn’t in pain, he didn’t even know he was bleeding.

Once Mom saw his broken nail, well the water works, and “poor Tucker!”s started. You would have thought his leg had fallen off the way Mom carried on. She made us cut short our play date. Maeve and I were having great fun.

When we got home, Mom cleaned Tucker’s foot, put him on the sofa, and waited on him hand and foot. And old Tucker milked it for all he was worth.

Boys can be such big babies.
