Dear Diary:
First the holidays, then the cleaning up after the holidays, and then a special weekend guest. It has been just crazy at my house for such a long time. My big brother Tucker tells me Christmas comes only once a year. And I have to admit, I’m kind of glad.
My very first Christmas was a blast. My Uncle Dave came to visit me, he’s just the greatest! He brought Tucker and me cool toys and I am embarrassed to admit it, but we have chewed through them already.
I met a man named Santa Claus at Petsmart. He’s a jolly old guy with a really soft red suit and a white beard. I liked Santa, I kind of wanted to take a nap on his lap. I’ll have to ask Mom to buy me a red velvet snuggle ball made from the same material as Santa’s coat.
Mom decorated the house and we had a Christmas tree. I liked the Christmas tree, it was very pretty and smelled good too. I was kind of sad to see it go. One day it was there, then the next day it was gone. Tucker knows something about the tree and where it went but he is keeping it a secret. Whatever!
And then last week my puppy sitter went to California. That meant Tucker and I had to stay home all week when Mom went to work. Boring! On Friday, Mom came home with a great surprise! She brought Charlie, my puppy sitter’s dog to our house for the weekend.
It seems Charlie is a big Momma’s boy. He was very sad that his Mom left him alone. In defense of my puppy sitter, she HARDLY left him alone! He has a wonderful Grammy and nieces and family to play with. All I have is Tucker….. Charlie doesn’t know how lucky he is.
Boys can be such Drama Queens, Tucker too. Yesterday Mom took me, Tucker, and Charlie for a play date with our good friend Maeve. Maeve is a Border Collie.
We were all playing when Mom suddenly got all flustered. Tucker broke a nail. BROKE A NAIL! Boo hoo! What a babay.
Tucker played and played and got disgusting blood all over the place. He wasn’t in pain, he didn’t even know he was bleeding.
Once Mom saw his broken nail, well the water works, and “poor Tucker!”s started. You would have thought his leg had fallen off the way Mom carried on. She made us cut short our play date. Maeve and I were having great fun.
When we got home, Mom cleaned Tucker’s foot, put him on the sofa, and waited on him hand and foot. And old Tucker milked it for all he was worth.
Boys can be such big babies.

Just a note, Lulu's Uncle Dave is writing this for her...
What is this Christmas thing anyway? All I know is we go by all these houses and they have all these lights and decorations out side. How uterly diiscusting. My mom doesn't have all those things in our yard. All I know is Mom say's that they are showing off.
Mom has brought a Fraser Fur Christmas Tree into the house, and Tucker and I can't play with it. Mom say's he's off limmits. Or is it she's off limmits. Either way, we get yelled at if we go near him, or her. Tucker told me that they had the same kind of tree in our home last year. It must have made Mom really mad last year. Tucker said that Mom took him out after the Holidays and threw him on the "burn plie". And later that year Mom Burned him up. What did the tree do to get treated like that? Hope Tucker can tell me what not to do, so I don't get the burn pile.......
Christmas must be something special, cause, our Uncle Dave has come to visit. I like Uncle Dave, he's really fun to jump up on and give him lot's of kisses and climb all over him. He lets me do all that, but not my brother Tucker. Tucker doen't climb on Uncle Dave, he just stands on his back legs and gets's his scritches and tummy rubs. I don't know what thatmale bonding thing is all about, but I nthink it's just another way to get you lovins.....
Now I guess this thing, Christmas, you are to get gifts and all kinds of treats. Well I'm waiting, where are the treats. I haven't seen any yet. Mom has been wrapping all these presents. Who get's these presents, do I get any presents, does Tucker. How bout Uncle Dave, does he get presents. I don't know about that, but Mom made Uncle Dave wrap some up for her. She must have been tired. So maybe Uncle Dave doesn't get any presents. Does Mom get any? She really deserves some presents. Oh well, they keep telling Me and Tucker we had better behave or this Santa Claus guy won't bring us presents and treats. I'm so confifused. Oh well, I'm just glad to have Uncle Dave here...

Dear Diary:
What a busy weekend I had. Mom had her good friend, my Aunt Cindy come for a visit with my Uncle Mark. They live very far away in a land called North Carolina.
Aunt Cindy and Uncle Mark brought their two children Sarah and Chris with them. So I had two new friends to play with. What fun that was. I got to chew on Sarah and she carried me all around. Chris and Sarah even played chase with me and Tucker.
We spent much of the day down on the dock. I hate going down to the dock because Mom wants me to swim with Tucker. I like water, but this whole swimming things is lost on me. Tucker will spend hours in the lake chasing after some stupid toy. I would much rather sit in the sun and work on my tan.
On Sunday Mom took me and Tuck to Dog Dayz of Summer. I met lots of people who just laughed, petted me, and smiled at me. I got lots of treats too. I guess everyone thinks young pups are cute so I will milk this for all it’s worth.
Tucker and I went to meet the Pet Psychic. She told Mom Tucker was a control freak. You sure don’t have to be a psychic to figure that one out! The psychic told Mom I am a hunter and that I will probably start bringing her presents one day. Not sure what that means but let me tell you, yesterday I was out the door after the wild turkeys in my backyard faster than a speeding bullet. I let Tucker herd them out of the yard and I picked up the left over feathers and brought them to mom. She took them away from me and said “although they are pretty, they are still yucky.”
After all that excitement, I am taking a day to get caught up on my beauty sleep.

Dear Diary:
While my Mom is at work and Tucker is at Daycare, I thought I’d take a few minutes to catch up with my thoughts.
It was a beautiful weekend. Mom spent most of Friday evening on the lawn tractor cutting the grass. Tucker and I watched her from the window. Tucker wanted to be out in the yard herding the tractor but I was content watching from the window, sipping ice water, and playing with Tucker.
On Saturday I helped my Mom dead-head her flowers. They were very pretty and quite tasty. Of course, Mom pointed out that eating the dead flowers was not a great idea. So I went wandering in search of Tucker. Apparently, I got too close to the road. Mom says I am getting very bold and because I am not old enough to have a “magic collar” like Tucker’s I have to be tied up.
I really hate being tied up. It is humiliating. Tucker isn’t tied up. Luke and Leah across the road aren’t tied up. I see absolutely no reason why I should be tied to something while I am outside. But I make the best of it. I like to wrap my long leash around things like my water dish and spill it everywhere. I almost dragged Mom’s planters off the porch with my leash. Mom is very patient. She gets up and straightens my leash so I can play with Tucker.
Oh, I also wore my life jacket several times. Mom sure does want me to swim. I don’t see what the big deal is but Tucker really likes it. I know if I swim and play fetch with Tucker, he will only try to jump on me and take the ball away from me in the water. I can do that on dry land, so what’s the point?
Mom took Tuck and me for a walk to the School Yard. I met two very big dogs who were walking there too. They liked me better than Tucker, Tucker wasn’t too interested in them. He wanted to go chase bunnies.
I had a lot of company over the weekend. My neighbor Sarah and her cute little girl Olivia came to meet me. Tucker jumps on everyone and tries to kiss them so I thought I would do the same. Mom yelled at both of us and gave us time out. The Mr. and Mrs. Hale came to visit me. They are Scooter’s Mom and Dad. I’ve met Scooter. He and Tucker are great pals. I can’t wait until I am older and I can boss Tuck and Scooter around.
Tucker has Obedience Class tonight and I am going to watch. Of course, Mom will make me stay in my X Pen but I will heckle him and Scooter from the sidelines.
Speaking of class, Mom went to my first Puppy Socialization Class without me. Moms and Dads were supposed to go to the first class without their puppies. Of course, two doggies went to class anyway. Mom told me that in my class there will be another girl doggie name Honey. Honey is a Yellow Lab who loves tummy rubs. Also there will be a Rottweiler named Pete. Apparently Pete is quite a handful. Then there is a little Black Lab/Border Collie mix named Sherman. Sherman’s Mom and Dad brought him to class. Mom says he is very handsome. I will have to look my very best for class next week and show Sherman how cute I am.
Well, Diary, that’s all for today. Mom left me a Pig Strip so I think I’ll chew on it awhile then maybe take a nap.

Dear Dogster Diary:
Hello. My name is Lulu. My AKC name is Visions Be Bop A Lula. My Mom says I am named Lewise Ann, for two good friends she doesn’t see much any more. But I guess I’ll just answer to Lulu.
On the Fourth of July, just as I was getting ready to take a nap with my sister and my brothers, this lady reached in the pen and picked me up. She seemed very nice and I would have been more gracious to my visitor but she caught me at a bad time. I was very tired so I snuggled up on her shoulder and went to sleep.
A week later my sister and I saw this same lady again. She introduced me to her Corgi Tucker and asked me if I wanted to come and live with her and have Tucker be my big brother.
The next thing I know, I have a new home, a new mom, and a new big brother. I like my Mom. She bought me cool toys, she feeds me twice a day, and she gave me this really pretty leash and collar. I can’t say I like being attached to a leash. I am very much a free spirit. But she is a good mom. After all, she puts up with Tucker.
Speaking of Tucker, I find him to be extremely self absorbed. Don’t get me wrong, he is great fun. I like to stalk him then jump on him, scare him till he runs away like a girl, then chase him. He is always up for a good game of chase.
I have received several E mails warning me the watch out for Tucker, that he can be a bit manipulative. Well, not to worry, I have his number. He takes himself way too seriously and frankly, it will be just a matter of time before I set him straight.
Until then I will simply go with the flow, use my cuteness and charm to establish myself in my new home, and see where this takes me.
