As soon as we bought our house, we started looking at shelters. We ended up being offered a puppy by our neighbor whose dog just had pups. I chose the chubbiest, fluffiest one. He had me when he snuggled up to my leg and took a nap. My husband picked the name Duke. Bio: We've known Duke since he was three weeks old. We had to bring him home at only five weeks old because our neighbor could no longer keep the pups. He was so young that the doctor said we should feed him formula for about two weeks.
