Birthday: July 8th 2002 Likes: Driving in the car! The happiest day of his life was when we bought our car. He goes crazy when he sees his seatbelt, but he is actually very calm in the car. Norbert also loves sleeping late and going for long walks. He loves little dogs. Pet-Peeves: People lingering outside our backyard gate, his siblings trying to take his cuz toy, ear cleaning Favorite Toy: red cuz Favorite Food: bagels, pizza crust, Norbert is very picky and needs to have food stirred into his nature's variety kibble Favorite Walk: Liberty state park, Palisades park, the beach Best Tricks: Roll over Arrival Story: Tubby was such a fantastic dog that I was determined to get him a doggy sibling. I was enamored of the big dogs at our local dog park and new I wanted a big boy dog. My husband and I went to the CACC on staten island after seeing an adorable brindle pit mix puppy on line. When we got to the shelter we realized the original puppy we had seen was as small as a yorkie and not destined to be bigger then 40 lbs. Then we saw Norbert in another cage. He had gigantic paws that looked like snow shoes on his little body. The shelter worker opened the cage door and he ambled out to us slow as molasses and tripped over his big feet. It was love at first sight. Bio: Norbert is a smart and mellow dog. He knows how to roll over which is very cute. He has a wonderful disposition and is not crazy friendly like his big brother Tubby, but more dignified and reserved when meeting new people. For a brief time when we lived in Manhattan Norbert was a therapy dog with the Good Dog Foundation in Manhattan and visited a NAMI residence and a few other places. He did a wonderful job, but then we moved to New Jersey. Norbert is much better behaved on his own then when under the influence of his mischevious older brother Tubby who encourages barking and other bad behaviors. Though friendly outside of the home, he is very protective and defintely discourages people from lingering at our gate with his big barks. Everyone has opinion about what Norbert's breed mix is I have heard american bulldog, great dane, pinter, greater swiss mountain dog, dalmation, lab, etc. Norbert has come to piece with his mysterious heritage and has accepted that he is simply the perfect dog. I went to the super pet expo with mom, dad, tubby, and ping today. It was very busy and I had a good time but was a little overwhelmed. Mom gave some money to great dane rescue and the ladies said I looked a little like a great dane. I got some special grain free treats and some jerky treats and I meat a mastiff puppy and a lot of other dogs. It was fun.
I got a lot of gifts this year. A reindeer toy, yucky smelling tripe treats (I think they smell great), a planet dog rescue ball (I love planet dog toys) and a reindeer toys puzzle toy. Hope all the pups on here had nice christmas too
I got a new tie for halloween, from fashionable fur babies. There designs support pug rescue which is good since I LOVE pugs. Since Im not so crazy about costumes the tie is fine with me. Its also hard to fit me into costumes. Last year, I wasnt really crazy about wearing my hair piece, even though it one me best costume prize. People thought I was supposed to be Donald Trump, mom never thought of that she was just dressing me as an office worker.
On a side note, mom really likes the picture of me and dad on the bench since its kind of like a picture of us on a bench in central park when we were younger. Dad had more hair and i had a browner eye patch, its going grey. It reminded mom of the move Wallace and Grommit: Curse of the Wererabbit. In the beginning of the movie it shows a long line of pictures of Wallace and Grommit from Grommit's puppyhood when Wallace had hair to their middle age.
