"They will not go quietly,
the dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them .......... and always will"

I went to Rainbow Bridge today. I got awfully weak over the past few days, and fell a lot and it was a struggle to get up and just get around. I had several health problems but it was probably the cushings disease that took me.
I took one of mom's socks along with me to always remember her by.
*note from mom: Virginia's biggest joy in life was guarding my socks, and I would give her a different pair every day. She waited for them, and would tuck them under her chin and go to sleep that way. It was our daily ritual.
You were such a different little character Virginia, and so devoted.
love you furever.

dear diary, I went to the dogtor for a check-up recently re cushings, cause mom thought I needed my meds adjusted. The dogtor said I seemed to be breathing funny so I had an x-ray. That's when it was discovered that I have an enlarged heart, and am actually in heart failure.
We were all surprised, because an ultrasound just a year ago showed that my heart was just fine thank you; but the dogtor says heart problems can come on fast in us seniors, so there you are! I've been on heart meds a couple of weeks now, and I am kind of in a holding pattern...I dont seem to feel any worse but I'm not getting much better either. The dogtor said the meds can't cure me but will slow down the progression of the disease, and the good news is: the first time she listened to my heart all she could hear was fluid, but now she can hear my heart clearly, so that's an improvement.
Looks like I will be seeing the dogtor fairly often now for monitoring; I'm ok with that, she's very nice and gives treats !! BOL
time for a nap. BAYL
