its a year now since I arrived at the bridge, and I continue to make new friends almost every day, as new angels arrive.
I know mom thinks about me still - she looks at my pictures all the time, and she talks to me too. I'm glad Sniffers found her way to our house, it was just what mom needed.

another black schnauzer joined us at Rainbow Bridge today, our good furiend Murphy from Ontario. We know his family is very sad right now, and I can see that this has made my mom cry all over again too. There's something very special about us black schnauzies.
There She Goes - Here She Comes..
Let us picture in our minds a beautiful blue lagoon on a clear day.
A fine sailing ship spreads her brilliant white canvas in a fresh morning breeze and sails out to the open sea.
We watch her grow smaller and smaller as she nears the horizon. Finally, where the sea and sky meet she slips silently
from sight and someone near you says, "There, she is gone."
Gone where?
Gone from sight, that is all. She is still just as large in mast and hull,
still just as able to bear her load.
We can be sure that just as we are saying, "There, she is gone," another is saying, "There she comes!"
Life is eternal and love is immortal. And death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
As one door closes another opens.
While we are mourning the loss of a friend or loved one, others are
rejoicing to meet them again beyond the veil.
-Author unknown
We love you Murphy.

I arrived at the bridge on Thursday May 15; I left earth rather quickly with some nasty illness called Lymphoma. Well I dont have it now and I feel better than I have for some time. I caught up with Toby and Jessica, my brother and sister from my earth experience, and they have been showing me around and helping me settle in. It's very nice here and I am looking forward to meeting new friends.
We can look down on our old house, and see that mom and dad are feeling pretty sad. Mom is going to a schnauzer walk on Sunday - we used to go with her, but this time she will have to go alone. We're glad she is still going to go, because we know how much she loves schnauzers and needs to be around them. When the time is right we'll send her another little mini to love.

Does anyone recognize me? know anything about me? Mom adopted me from a shelter in Oregon in 2003 and brought me home to British Columbia.
The shelter said I had been turned in by a man who claimed he had only had me for a short while and didnt know anything about me except my name. The shelter thought the story was suspicious and ran an advt in the newspaper about me in case I had people looking for me - no one replied, so then I was officially put up for adoption.
We just read about two related golden retrievers who found each other on Dogster, so we thought we'd try too. mom would love to know something, anything about me - my age, if I lived with other dogs, what kind of life I had, do I have any brothers or sisters, if I ever had pups. Can you help us?

Here are the rules:
Because it’s Thanksgiving time, there is a change to the rules. Each player needs to tell seven special things they are thankful for. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their 7 things. Then choose 7 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play.
Seven Things I’m Thankful For:
1. being adopted from the shelter;
2. my nice soft bed,
3. all my good friends on Dogster,
4. my fenced yard,
5. lots of good food and TLC
6. a mild climate so I dont have to wear clothes too often,
7. a good vet and ER hospital close by when I need one
I am tagging:
1. Finnegan #457313
2. Greta Grace #576132
3. Sam #562070
4. HoneyBuns #604556
5. Uno #505566
6. Lacey #341180
7. Duncan #423049
This is a fun game where you can meet and learn new things about some of your pals. Have fun with this!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

my second ultrasound confirmed a splenic mass; the Dr says if it is not removed it will continue to grow and could then rupture and bleed, which would be an emergency situation; so we are going to go with the surgery and get it out of there--please send power of the paw !!
OK I've had the surgery - and my mass is benign !! Ain't that grrreat :)
Surgery took a lot out of me so I will be getting extra rest until I start feeling like my old self again.

Velvet had what was thought to be a fatty lipoma under her left front leg. After a while it got bigger and harder, so she had a needle biopsy this week, and it contains cancer cells. The lab suspects it is a soft tissue sarcoma. The lump will be removed on December 1st, and the lab will examine it in detail.
January 2007: surgery was successful, the tumor was totally encapsulated and came off easily, it is confirmed as a sarcoma, and could recur at some point.
