Arrival Story:
I adopted Buster in April of 2006 from the local shelter. He was in very poor condition and had a few medical problems. He was scheduled to be put down the very next day. Since then he has become a loving member of this family and has gotten over his ailments. He is a BIG silly and loves nothing more than getting belly rubs from me and my other (human) son. He is an older dog, but can sometimes have the energy of a puppy. We just love him to pieces!!!

My Tail of Devotion for Buster

My dear, sweet Buster,

You haven't been with us long, but it feels like you've been here forever! I remember the day that we came to get you at the shelter like it was yesterday. You looked so small and scared...I fell in love with you right away.

You were very sick in the beginning. You had a bad cough and ear infections in both ears and you were just covered in ticks. I laid with you all night that first night because I was so worried about you. I wanted you to feel so safe and so loved. The next day I took you to the doctor and got you all fixed up. You had to take some medicine for awhile, but you are all better now!!

I am so thankful that I found you. You have become a huge part of my life and have taken up a big place in my heart. You are my friend, my companion, and you always know how to make me smile. I couldn't imagine life without you. Thank you!

Love,
Mom and your big brother!

Hi mom!

What can I say? I am so happy to have a home now instead of being out wandering the streets and being in that bad place you call the shelter.

Remember when you brought me home and I didn't feel very good? Well, all I can say is thank you for taking such good care of me.

You have taught me how to play with toys...I never had the chance to do that before. You let me know that it's ok if I bark...I used to get in trouble for that. You also rub me in all the right spots...especially under my chin. I just LOVE that!! You have provided me with a place where I can feel safe and at peace...that is something that I have longed for for a very long time.

I like my big (human) brother too. He is a lot of fun to be around. Sometimes he moves a little fast and scares me a bit (I'm still a bit shy) but I know that he loves me very much and would never hurt me.

I know that I have now found my forever home. And I also know that you saved my life. For that there are no words to express how thankful I am.

Love,
Buster
