Likes:
Sammie LOVES to swim. He would get very annoyed if you went swimming without him! He loves playing with his sister Katie - they have doggie wrestling matches and chase each other up and down the stairs.

Favorite Toy:
anything with ears - he is a real ear-biter
Favorite Food:
Greenies (that he tries to hide), cucumbers, and baby carrots
Favorite Walk:
he is happy anytime he is on a leash and outside - he loved his first hike in the woods - so much to smell!
Best Tricks:
He plays by himself - grabs a toy, tosses it, and chases after it. He also does his "dopey dance" when his people come home - bouncing up and down on his hind legs - silly but adorable!
Arrival Story:
Sammie is a rescue poode I adopted in April 2004. He is a little uncomfortable around strange men but is otherwise generally sweet and loving to everybody. When people meet him and I tell them his previous owners gave him up, they are amazed anybody wouldn't want such a charming boy.
Bio:
My friends call him a metrosexual poodle. He likes being groomed, is fascinated by toothbrushes, and has jumped on the table to steal my lip gloss (which he tries to lick off as soon as I put it on). He also redecorates (by flipping the pillows off the side of the couch). He is the calmest poodle I've ever met - his temperment is more like that of a standard, but in a lap dog sized package. We recently moved and now he is living with another rescue poodle and the two of them are having a fantastic time playing together. Now all we have to do is find a pond or lake where he can go swimming since his new house doesn't have a pool :(

Something really scary happened the other morning! Mommy was sitting at the computer and I was being really good and taking a quick nap on the loveseat. Then I saw it! There was a fuzzy purple monster on the floor next to Mommy! I was so scared! I knew she didn't see it, but I was afraid that if I got to close to her or was too loud it would attack! So I came up with a great plan. I started growling realllllly quietly, almost to quietly to hear, while I kept my eyes focused right on the monster. Soon enough, Mommy turned around to find out what was going on. She was really confused at first but I kept looking from the monster to her and then back. Finally she realized that I was trying to warn her! Then she reached down and grabbed the fuzzy purple monster. I was so scared! She was so brave! Then she called me over to see it - she let me sniff it and everything. She said it was just a sock that fell out of the laundry basket. But me, I know better. I know I saved my Mommy from a horrible purple fuzzy death. Because I'm a SMART poodle!
