We were looking for a pug but all the breeders were very far from us and had no available puppies. One day on a whim I looked in the newspaper and saw an ad for pug pups located in our town. It turned out the lady lived three blocks from us. We were going to get one of the young puppies and wait weeks for her or him, but a few days after we met the breeder called me. She said one of the moms her boy had studded had rejected her pups. They were older and would we like to see them. It was love at first sight. Two weeks later, Benny, 2 pounds and fragile, came home with us. (He's now a big, healthy and happy boy). We like to think fate brought him to us.
My husband promised me a pug as a wedding gift. While looking at Benny's papers we saw that he was born the day before our wedding. We think it's proof that he was meant for us.

Today was crazy. Mommy and Daddy told me they were going off to work and school, respectivly, but Mommy lied! I was lazying pleasantly on the bed when I heard her come home, much earlier than expected. But with her I heard much noise and smelled some odd scents. She had bought me a new toy - but that wasn't it. She stank off the vet's (ewwww) and of....other dogs. I was horrified. Did Mommy bring home more dogs?
Mommy, and later Daddy, reassured me that I am still top pug and am their number one little guy. I believe them.
She tells me that their Mommy (human not furry) died and that they needed rescuing. They are much older than I, 8 and 4 years, and are Mother and Son. The Mother has the unfortunate name of Pooky and the Son bears the moniker Sammy. Interesting pug specimens, indeed. They didn't want to play despite my scuttling invitations. Perhaphs they will "come around," as Mommy put it. We shall see.
Well it is late - and I think I hear Mommy stirring. I don't want her to know I can use this computer thing. Until next time, folks.
