 Quick Bio:
Likes: hunting, mice or the vacuum; picking on his sister

Pet-Peeves: making him move while he's asleep (he's a grumbler!); other dogs make him nervous, until a thurough sniffing can be completed

Favorite Toy: his sister; anything that squeakes

Favorite Food: anything, although it must be thuroughly smelled first

Favorite Walk: anywhere

Arrival Story: My other dog needed a friend, so I began looking. A friend of mine saw Bear on the pet of the week for the local SPCA. He had heartworms, but needed a home. I went and check him out. He seemed calm (HA!) and sweet, so I adoped him. The SPCA paid for the heartworm treatment. He fully recovered and has had no problems since.

Bio: Bear was listed as a dachsi mix, but I don't think that's what he is. The jury's still out, though. Beagle, terrier, cattle dog? Crazy and high-strung, for sure, but sweet and protective. NOT calm, though, like I thought. He's a patroler and an accomplished hunter, having caught me 3 mice on separate occasions. He always lets us know when the meter guy, the cable guy, and the next door neighbors are out and about. He's the guy that has to sit in the corner of the restaurant so he can see the front door at all times - a little paranoid, but very genial. Once he meets you, he likes you quite a bit. He also will nod off occasionally, like a person - head bobbing and all - which I had never seen in a dog before.
