Arrival Story: my first Ibizan died in my arms after receiving a cortisone injection, ten years of tears later I steeled myself to watch the hound group on the westminister dog show when BUNNY appeared. three hours later when the sobbing had finally stopped and my speech could be understood I was 0n the phone saying " I NEED a PUPPY".
Bio: Elvis was born an orphan. he was an AI baby and his mom died as she was undergoing a c-section to have his litter.
Elvis lived a life that every dog should be entitled to.
Every moment was filled with LOVE, exercise, adventure and the all necessary sleeping. He was bugrudged nothing that would do him no harm and he also had his fair share of 'girliepillowfriends' of various forms :o)
There were times that Pat was gone away at sea for days at a time, Patrick was 3 and Elvis was much, much more than a companion, he was truly a BEST FRIEND out here in the middle of nowhere.
Elvis never reached his 4th birthday.
Elvis never got to catch a bunny or a bird.
BUT............
He got to do eveything else
{even if it was only a blanket, pillow or a bear :o) }
Elvis was diagnosed with SLE { systemic lupus erythematosus } at the age of 3 yrs. 9 months.
1 month after being diagnosed he suffered a prolonged seizure throughout which he remained fully cognizant.
Another seizure would be even worse.
He wasn't liking anything about having SLE.
He was my BEST FRIEND.
I had to make the hardest decision ever.
He left this world being held by his momma and his dad.
We held on to him for a long time afterwards.
It was so damn hard to let go.
