Arrival Story:
I WAS the foster mom until Dyna found her forever home. I got her under the condition from my spouse that we will place her in a suitable home for lots of luvins. We fell in love with her and she with us, so now we are a family of 3 ACD's.

Bio:
Dyna's person went into adult foster care, and her dog friends are at other foster people's homes. If I didn't already have 2 ACD's which are THE MOST demanding two dogs I have ever had - we would keep her - she is a wonderful laid back girl. OK, OK - she is the calm in my storm of blues... :) We adopted her! :)

Forums Motto:
Just give me luvins

Day in the life of Dyna Girl

Canine Lymphoblastic Lymphoma :(

A couple weeks ago Dyna went off of her food - not a good thing for a girl who "loves her groceries" as one vet so eloquently put it. The third day I noticed a bit of swelling in her cheek and thought it might be a tooth abscess. So I brought her to the vet and after the exam he said he thought it was Lymphblastic Lymphoma which is a very fast growing cancer. It was in 5 lymph nodes and he suspected lungs and perhaps liver.

We opted for the predinsone treatment just to keep her quality of life as good as possible. It worked better than not - I think it might have bought us a week or two.

She had a couple weeks of eating well and getting lots of love.

We will miss this cherished old girl. She was the "Good Dog" of our pack of Cattle Dogs.

Her loving family.

I talked my foster people into keeping me... I knew they wouldn't be able to resist me. Mom is a pushover - dad was harder to convince that I really did like him, but was scared of boys. He won me over with turkey hotdogs and lots of love - when I thought mom died - turns out she went out of town for 2 weeks - how was I suppose to know? It gave me the time dad and I needed for full bonding experience.

I like my new brother and sister too, they are SPAZZES! Full of unlimited energy - I just think they are immature... I am 4 years older than Frisko, and 5 years older than Dagney.

enough for now

Dyna is a quiet ACD that is quite content to just "hang out." She loves to go for walks, and is happy to check pee-mail along the way. Cats are a intrigue that she seems very interested in pursuing - might not be good with them, she does seem to try to stalk my neighbors cats. She is very good with all the new dogs she has met in my neighborhood, including 2 sets of my friend's dogs.

She is very easy to be around, and in the scariest situations has not shown any human agression. She did not like my dogs jumping on me at first - but has quickly learned that they are not attacking me and that I am ok with it. She now jumps up on me on occassion (sorry bad habit of mine - I am terrible of breaking myself :)
