Arrival Story: When Rufus and I were living in Tennessee, the vet suggested I get Rufus a new companion since he was putting on weight. The next time we were in the vet's waiting room, a man was waiting with a sick kitten. He asked if I was looking for another cat and i told him I couldn't afford a sick cat. He said he had 2 other kittens at home. I went the next night to see them and they were half-feral. He left a window open so they come and go as they pleased. Briana was the only one I could catch, so I settled for her.
I liked the name Alexis, but I've taken a vow of "no vowels" and Lexis sounds too much like the car. I was going to name her Diana but decided it might be too trendy since Princess Diana had recently died, so I settled for Briana (which is now trendy). Her middle name is Siri for the vet Rufus and Bob had as kittens.
Today be meow like a purrate day. My family usually loves dressing up as pirates, but we're not really celebrating this year. I'm still stuck at Not-the-Momma's house and it looks like I'll be here for another week! Those little ITs came for a couple of days last week and were locked in the living room. They were really unhappy but I got to taunt them through the French door, so I had some fun at least. Momma's bathroom is finished finally, but the condo association has to replace some pipes in the living room ceiling. So I'm banished until that's finished so Momma can lock the ITs in MY bedroom. Not fair!
So our internet access is limited since Momma has to use her laptop on her lap in bed with no mouse. She talks about getting wireless internet but she hasn't yet. I'll send my thank yous out when I can, but it probably won't be before next week.
