Likes:
She loves any kind of attention. She has never gotten any- before I rescued her.

Pet-Peeves:
Cats-- I think she likes them but would play with them until they were dead.

Favorite Toy:
I don't know- I don't think she has ever had a toy in her life. I gave her a squeak toy and she acted scared of it.

Favorite Food:
She likes any food. I don't know of any favorites. She has never had treats or anything special before she came to me. I gave her a treat and she just looked at it for a few seconds. She wasn't sure what to do with it.

Favorite Walk:
She has never been anywhere besides her clothes line pole that she was tied to since she was a puppy.

Best Tricks:
She doesn't do any tricks that i know of. She has never been taught anything at all.

Arrival Story:
READ JEWELS DIARY FOR UPDATES! My neighbor was moving Thursday, June 29, 2006 and i saw them load Jewel in the back of their truck. Friday morning she was in my yard with a broken hip. The owner never came back looking for her. I am in mississippi where hurricane katrina hit and am unable to pay for the surgery she needs. I am living in a fema camper. She is a beautiful, sweet , loving dog. The vet can't do anything until the money is there to pay for it. The first step is antibiotics , pain medicine and x-rays. Then her leg will have to be amputated unless i can raise enough money to pay for the pins and steel plate to save her leg. If i don't get the money for the surgery they are going to put her to sleep. If you can help in any way -please let me know. She doesn't have time to wait. She will also be looking for a forever home where she can live a happy life. She may only have 3 legs , but they tell me that she will be fine and back to her energetic self again in no time. She will need a secure fenced yard and lots of love. She probably won't get along well with cats. She has never had access to any, but she trys to jump for mine. Please send this to anyone that may be able to help her, or if you are interested in giving her a home. My personal email addres is robinb78ms@aol.com-- thankyou. click on the link under Jewels picture to read her diary. It has all of the updates and information on Jewel.

Jewels article in the newspaper.

I ran a small 70 word article in the Sun Herald newspaper here on the coast and the response i got for Jewel was overwhelming to the vets office. They couldn't handle the volume of calls they were getting. I have personally gotten over 25 calls from well meaning people in the communities near us that plan to make a donation. So far I have raised about $620.00, But others have promised that their money was on its way. It is strange how many people are willing to donate in this area to help a dog. Some of these donors have lost their own pets and that is the reason they feel they want to help Jewel. Some have lost everything except their lives and they said that they feel like god has blessed them, so they feel it is a good thing to do to show their appreciation for all god has to offer. Someday Jewel will bring a lot of happiness to a lucky owner. Her ears are like silk. That is my favorite thing about her. I will update this as more information comes in. Please make a donation of any amount. The rescue group is @601-794-8854 (DIANE) or they accept paypal donations at www.pinebeltanimalrescue.com - PINE BELT ANIMAL RESCUE IS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE . or email me at robinb78ms@aol.com
