Pet-Peeves: Riding in cars, thinking someone should actually feed her a milkbone instead of people food. Cats. Rain. Popcorn. People who dress her up in antlers! Thunderstorms and BUGS!! The exuberance of Zorra and Sam.

Favorite Toy: Blanket Tag (having a blanket over her and she tries to tag you)

Favorite Food: Chicken, Cheese

Favorite Walk: Along the canal

Best Tricks: Dancing and speaking.

Arrival Story: I found Ruthie on PetFinder.com, and had to adopt her because of her cute underbite!!! She was found in an alley with a litter of pups. All her pups were adopted and no one wanted to adopt her, until someone from a Rescue group found her. Ruthie was adopted out once, but returned because the other dog wanted to be an ONLY dog. She was very shy and scared when she first came home with us, but is full of personality now! She's quite the dog and we are glad we have her. She certainly rules the house.
Ruthie's adoption story is featured in SECOND CHANCES: INSPIRING STORIES OF DOG ADOPTION by Joan Banks. This book is a collection of stories of dogs who found their forever homes through PetFinder.com.

Bio: Ruthie has two doggie sisters, Zorra and Katie, a doggie brother Sammy, a kitty sister, Sabrina, and kitty brother, Harley. She also has 2 doggie cousins, Sandy and Sweetie, and 3 kitty cousins, Puma, Cinder and Safire.

Forums Motto: Hey! You gonna eat that?

Although I have no desire to be an athlete like the others in this house, I am a star in my own right. My adoption story has been immortalized in the book SECOND CHANCES: INSPIRING STORIES OF DOG ADOPTION by Joan Banks. This book is a collection of stories of dogs who found their forever homes through PetFinder.com.
The story about ME chronicles my journey here to my family and my life with them. My trials, tribuations, and ultimate rule of the house.
Unfortunately, it doesn't indicate that they are continually trying to put me on a D I E T. I just cannot stand that word D I E T. I find it quite unnecessary. As I have stated to them many, many, many times, it takes a lot of food to retain this svelt body. I have noticed that it takes a little more effort to squeeze under the bed. However, I am positive that the bed is just sinking lower into the floor.
I realize that I have been lapse in writing more in my diary, but writing cuts into my sleep time. I have to get enough rest to watch both the house here, and the entire town of Metamora, IN. I can often be spotted taking my daily stroll next to the canal in Metamora at approximately 4PM. You are all welcome to join me during my walk. However, be aware, I may take off for a round of mole hunting, duck chasing, and on hot days, a bit of a dip in the canal.

I keep hearing that spelling over the past week? Like they think I cannot spell!!! I am very upset that they have put me on a D-I-E-T!!!! I am punishing them all by hiding under the bed. I will show them. Soon, I will be so skinny that they will feel sorry for me when I start to look like a Whippet!
I don't think I am making much headway, though. I have been sneaking out after my humans go to bed and have been just nibbling, mind you, on the kitties' food. Oh sure, they yowl and hiss over it, but I'm soooo hungry.
Unfortunately, I ate all their food before I realized it the other night. In my panic, I carried their empty food bowl into the dining room to hide it from my humans. I thought hiding it under the table was a good hiding place, but the humans found it right away after the kitties yowled and led them right to it! I'm going back under the bed........

Today, I managed to get at least 6 treat sticks from the big guy, and additional treats from others by looking cute and sucking in my cheeks. I try to look malnourished as much as I can, but it is getting hard to show any ribs whatsoever. I even heard someone say "maybe she should be on a diet." My word!! I'm barely eating enough now to keep a small bird alive. I mean, after all, it takes a lot of food to keep up the energy. I have to watch 2 cats, the other dog, and get a lot of sleep. Diet my eye. I have to work to keep this girlish figure! Hurmph.
