Saw her at the Iowa City Animal Center.
Bio:
Dewey is recovering from demodex, which is a form of mange that sometimes occurs in pit bulls. We believe that once she leaves the animal shelter she will be able to recover from it completely.
On August 12th, 2006, Dewey had a seizure. Afterwards, out of confusion and fear, she lashed out against my husband. We made the painful decision to put her to sleep. She did not recognize us anymore, and the vet believed that she had brain damage.
Life wasn't fair to Dewey. She spent most of her short life in a shelter, stricken with demodex. I hope that we were able to give her some joy in her life while she was here with us. I know that she gave us joy. We will miss you, Dewey!

I didn't get to see my mom yesterday; she was busy defending her thesis. But today they came and got me from the shelter, and they didn't take me back. It's so strange, but I really like laying with Mom on the couch. They tried to take me outside tonight, but I haven't been outside when its dark out. It's scary!!!!! I wonder if they'll have me stay tomorrow?

Yesterday I got spayed. I haven't been feeling vey well since. My mom came and visited me and that made me happy, but then she had to leave.

I'll be leaving the animal shelter and moving to Macomb IL where my parents have positions at Western Illinois.
I got to visit their place today. I now have a brother who is a cat named Marvin. I wanted to play with him once and he didn't like it too much. He swatted at my nose and I walked away.
I didn't like being left at the shelter today, but I will see my parents again tomorrow.
