Arrival Story:
I was working in the 7-day store on New River Air Station when a lady came in with the poster to get rid of Murray cuz she was allergic to the fur! I took the poster to show my hubby and she was ours instantaneously and has been with us since that day!

Bio:
Murray was a throw away (she was literally thrown out the window of a speeding car on Highway 17 in N. Carolina.) The lady we got her from took her in and had her friend the vet look her over and fix her up. When I went to get her, she was about 1 yr old and was scared to death of the car! (Can you blame her?) We got her over her fear of car-ridding and she is a real trooper in the car. My hubby took her to work with him on Camp Lejeune because she is such a well behaved dog. Some idiot thought he could let her off the lead and she got out trying to trach her daddy. Long story short, we lost her for about 3 weeks. We were heart broken- all the guys would have had to do was say sit- and she would have- she ran cuz she thought it was a game! She hates thunderstorms and bombing- and naturally, it was winter in NC, so my hubby roamed the trails, fields and talked to the game warden and MP's. No Murray! One day, she wandered into Jacksonville (about two blocks from the house) and the kind people at a day care center had tried to call- they got her name from an ID tag on her collar. Since she was filthy and hungry, she was trying to beg food from people dropping off kids, so when they couldn't get ahold of me, the called the pound. We FINALLY got her back after arguing with the dufass at the pound- again, she had her rabies tag on the collar and I had the corresponding paperwork to prove she was my dog and she went home. We have had her ever since. SAD NOTE: We had to have Murray euthanised today, Sept. 15, 2007 due to old age and poor health. She is missed by all who knew her.
