Arrival Story:
Buzby is just an awesome dog. My parents got him when he was a baby in January 1994. I still remember my mom and I hopping in my Toyota Celica and heading over to Indiana. The area was just digging out of over two feet of snow and the city had been pratically shut down for a week, but into that little car we hopped and headed across the bridge. The snow was still piled so high in certain areas that the bottom drug. He was well worth the trip. We entered the seller's home and were led to a room with a playpen it was filled with wood chips. At first we didn't see him, he was the last and the smallest and had burrowed into the bed of chips. It seems no one had wanted him. All I can say is their loss! He was such a blessing to my parents who were still grieving over the loss of their beloved Baron the previous year, my dad even commented that he didn't want another one it was just to difficult to lose them. Once he saw Buzby he changed his mind, the little guy had him wrapped at first sight! He and his Ma and Pepaw (that's the names he recognized them by) went and did everything together. They worked in the yard, tended the garden, went shopping and he even put in guest appearances at church. He accompanined them to Florida and even to family reunions! They were retired so he was rarely if ever left alone. Then In February 2001 his Pepaw got sick, things were much different after that. Pepaw was in the hospital a lot and he was left for long periods of time for the first time in his life. His Pepaw battled valiantly but lost the battle in November 2002. He grieved so for him. That left he and his Ma. They did ok, but things were never the same. Rascal was added to the family in 2004. Buzby really didn't like him much at first, but once they got to know each other they became best buddies. He and Rascal were great company for their Ma. Then in May 2005 his Ma passed away. He missed her horribly, but once again he dealt with it. This little dog is the most resilient little fellow I have ever seen. He now lives with my sister and I and his newest brother Zeke who was added in 2005. Donnie moved in in November 2007. He may be 14, but he is fesity and full of energy and a joy to have around! How can I not be devoted to him?

What a valiant little fighter Buzby was! The vet thought he was done for in August 2008, but our spunky little man fought on and enjoyed life. Finally the heart condition and failing kidneys became to much even for this brave little soul. He is now reunited with his Ma and PePaw where he will be forever young.
