One of two show prospects my mom kept from the litter. I took Summer under my wing when she was 6 months old and worked with her. She was entirely too smart to be a kennel dog so she came to live with me in the city and is a wonderful (albeit high maintanence) house pet and budding agility protege.

My Tail of Devotion for Summer

Summer,
My fur-child and daughter of choice, you and I have been through so much together.
When I first brought you to live with me, I was apprehensive. You'd had a history of pulling pranks and being difficult to live with, and although you're not always EASY to live with, I know that this is the life you love and that you'll always do you best to keep everything good. Including getting along with the cat. I never dreamed you'd actually put up with her.
You put up with 'the ex' and his two bratty kids like a hero, and self appointed yourself my guardian when things got rocky, despite your sweet disposition.
You are truly a good dog. You've walked in your gramma's footsteps well, and I love you, kid.
~Mom
