Arrival Story:
I lost my beloved Arielle Rose Whippet in August 2005, at age 13.5. After an exhaustive search to find a whippet puppy, I found a wonderful breeder in SC with a 10 week old fawn and white litter. My whippet Lily and I drove down to SC to look at the puppies. The moment the door opened at the breeder's, Sylvie and I locked eyes; I didn't notice any of the other puppies. A wonderful chill ran through my whole body--I knew she was my dog and she knew I was her human. I also felt like it was Arielle looking through those eyes, as if she'd come back in a new healthy body. I don't know if reincarnation is true, and it really doesn't matter, but Sylvie brought the light back into my heart. She is pure sweetness and delight, and like Arielle before her, a perpetual wagger - a "happy-happy dog."

Sylvie is a fantastic dog. She's extremely intelligent and is one of the most outgoing, friendly, confident whippets I've ever met. She has decided that her household "job" is to be my personal assistant, always at my side. Sylvie is an incredible athlete - you should see her catch a frisbee! We often play frisbee at a park with a creek. Every 3 or 4 throws, she will run past me with the frisbee in her mouth and jump in the creek to cool off and get a drink. She learned that if she shoves the frisbee under the water and holds it down with her foot, it won't float away with the current. Sylvie is sweet and affectionate, yet has an intensity about her; she is a big soul.

Forums Motto:
You gonna throw that? Please?
