Arrival Story: Around three or four years ago I was doing some freelancing at Miramax Films and one of the Art Directors had this French Bull dog named Shorty whom he would bring to work everyday. I marveled at this confident, curious creature. He would make his rounds, saying hello to everyone before settling down for a day nap in his owner's office. I had never really liked dogs very much, I grew up with Huskies all my life, very aloof, and not very afectionate. Don't get me wrong, slobering, leg humping beasts don't do it for ither. I at the time had two cats (still do) and never until that point concedered owning a dog. At the time I was in a seriouse relatiopnship and living with someone who worked from home. I mentioned I was interested in getting one of these Frenchies, and would send him links to breeders all the time. I felt that him being at home so often would be a great time to raise a pup… and I'd have help walking, scooping poop, etc… So, one day I'm coming back from A.I Freidmans with big bags of art supplies and walk by this pet store with the cutes French Bull dog I'd ever seen in the window. I get home and beg him to just take a peek, see what he thinks. Now, he was one of those guys who thought a dog isn't a dog unless it weights at least 50 pounds. So, we go to the store and play with her. Oh, she so confident and cute and I want her. He's loving her too but trying to be the voice of reason, the commitment, life changing decision, etc… We leave and I'm itching to get her so bad but I know he has to want her too. He does, but is going back and forth. We had plans to go away for the weekend (it was a Wednesday), so he said if she was there when we got back it was meant to be. The following day at work I went back downtown to the pet store and put her on my credit card. I didn't tell him, we went away for the weekend, and low and behold there she was on Monday! I didn't tell him for weeks that I messed with destiny. By that time he was head over heals anyway. I always say, she was the best decision I ever made.
