Arrival Story:
I was doing the monthly Petsmart run to get cat supplies. It was adoption day. I wondered passed, I met eyes with this cute puppy. I hurried off to get the cat food and litter. I returned to look down the isle again at that cutie in the cage. I wanted a closer look. I started to pet her head. The urge hit. I could feel myself wanting to hold her. Knowing if I held her she would be mine, I fought against the feeling for some time. After the internal fight, I PICKED HER UP! That was it. She had a mommy. I sat there and petted her. I filled out the paper work and then got all the dog stuff I needed and took her home. She is the best thing, as are the cat, in my life!

This past week my mom and grandma traveled to Big Bear, CA. I didnt get to ride in the front seat as I do in mom's truck, grandma sat there. I did have the entire back seat to myself. It was a long drive with lots of curvy road. We arrived in Big Bear after a couple hours. I sure did need a walk. I walked around.

I got to stay in a hotel, a pretty swanky one. Mom made sure we were on the ground level, so I wouldnt bother people when I walked or ran in the room. I was lucky, cuz the weather was cool, so when mom and grandma went to eat I could sit in the car. The first night, I was a bit uneasy and needed help to get to sleep. I did wake my mom up when I needed to go out. Mom was worried when I didnt have a "movement." She did spend a lot of time playing with me making sure I was happy. I did miss my kitties.

The next day mom and granny went shopping. Mom or granny would stay with me as the other went to shop. I met a lot of nice people and kids, ever a few dogs on holiday, like me. Mom spent too much on some nice things. I sure got spoiled. I got bones to chew on at night in the hotel room.

On the third day, we drove and saw a few of the natural sights of a area. I got to go in one of the local museums. They even gave me a treat! That afternoon, my mom found a park. We stopped and she tossed my favorite red Kong ball. I lost interest, since I saw DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were swimming in the lake. I sure did wanna play with one or two. I hopped in the water. I didnt go too far, but I sure did wanna make friends. I ran back and forth along the shore line. Those ducks didnt want to play. They did tease me. I would try to talk to them and they did talk back, but I dont speak duck. I tried to get mom to help me, but as usual, I was on my own. I got so excited I over stepped and fell in. I dont swim, never have. I did that day. Scared me to death. I swam back. I stayed closer to the shore. After while, we sent back to the hotel. I took a good nap. Mom and granny went to dinner then took me back to the park. I played bit more, BUT I was tired. We all went back to the hotel. I laid down and that was it.

The next day, we left. We all went back to the park. I played some and again tried to get those ducks to play. I tired out early. We loaded up and headed out.

I think mom was gonna kill granny, cuz granny got the directions all messed up. Instead of a simple 2 hour drive, it was almost 4 hours. Mom was not thrilled. We did stop so I could walk some and get a drink.

When we got home, I was in heaven. Mom returned my bed to her room. (She took my bed with us so I wouldn feel comfortable.) I chased my kitties. I ran in my back yard. I LOVED BEING HOME!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you interested I did have a couple HUGE "movements" which mom was happy about... silly humans!
