Today I am 5 years old

Today I turned 5 and it has been the best birthday ever. I have met so many wonderful friends on Dogster and dogster sent me a birthday rosette and put me in the birthday stroll.

All my friends sent me birthday wishes, greetings and rosettes and even Yorkieville United had a 2 day party for me in the Birthday Thread Celebration.

This morning when I went to Yorkieville United Homepage they had the Happy Birthday Song to You and boy was that a surprise and a thrill at the same time.

When I went to wake mommy up this morning at 6:30 to let her know I was hungry she started rubbing my belly and singing Happy Birthday to you and she played with me just me on the bed boy was it a blast.

When she fixed daddy breakfast she even cut up some of the turkey bacon to put in my dog dish.

This has been one fun birthday and I thank all my friends.

Goodbye to a very special friend Dee Dee

Yesterday I lost a very special friend her name is Dee Dee she lives in the United Kingdom and I live in Ocala, Florida miles apart but because of dogster we were united in friendship. Never met in person but thanks to modern technology we met online through Skype and got to meet each other.

She was an avid poster in our threads she would put things in our threads to make us smile and laugh. Her pictures she would chose and made her beauty shine through.

Her family adopted two older yorkies just a couple weeks ago and now they face the sadness of losing their precious angel Dee Dee. All our members of Yorkieville United are saddened to lose our precious Dee Dee. Thanks again to dogster there is a group called Rainbow Bridge where Dee Dee is now at joining her brother Mr. Spud and sister Sweetie and my sister Tiffany. They will watch over us and with their wings fly down and give us kisses to let us know that they are keeping an eye on us here on earth.

Our prayers and hugs go to Dee Dee and her family. She may have left us physically but she will be forever in our hearts and in our minds.

I will say so long precious Dee Dee because in the future we shall meet up again. Our love to you and your family.

Going crazy with allergies

Well mommy finally took me to the vet after trying many different things such as SkinEze, Vibrac anti itching spray, Calm Coat Spray to help relieve me of my itches and scabs on my back. The vet checked it out said I have had a lot of skin issues so he gave me a shot of Prednisone and some antibiotic tablets where I take one tablet every 12 hours and the dermaskin shampoo that mommy has to wet me down good rub the shampoo in and then let it set for 10 to 15 minutes before she rinses me.

Now you all know I am not known to sit still for 10 to 15 minutes for mommy to rinse this off me. I certainly hope this works and mommy does too as I wake her up a couple times at night wanting her to scratch my back.

The vet has no idea what I am allergic too. Wish we knew then mommy can make sure none of it is around me. Just this one day visit cost $192 lucky daddy did not take me.

4th Gotcha Day

I can't believe that it has been 4 years since my mommy came and chose me to go home to her house. Every since then I have been blessed with a good home, plenty of food and treats and lots of love and a sister to play with. I am so thankful I was chosen by them as they take real good care of me.

I am Honorary Schnauzer of the Week

Today I was shocked when I checked into dogster and saw that they chose me a Yorkshire Terrier to be an honorary Schnauzer of the Week I was so thrilled. Sniffers made a badge for me and everyone was sending me rosettes and congratulations and they created a thread where they ask me questions and I answer them this way they get to know a little more about me.

My home thread though is the Yorkieville United a great bunch of Yorkies who are helping each other out adjusting to the new dogster explaining how to get our background back on our pages and how to add music.

Dogster makes my day. I check my threads everyday to talk to all my dogster friends and it is so neat that with skype I can see my dogster friends in the United Kingdom that I would never get to see otherwise.

The groups in dogster are so helpful and they are there through good and bad times and help us when we are down and needing cheering up and supporting us in our accomplishments.

This week dogster gave us a lot of freebies to pass out to our friends and I am so thankful to them.

I love all my friends here at Dogster and am so glad that I have met you all.

Hoping everyone has a safe and Happy Memorial Day.

My prayers are with all the military people who are serving our country now and remembering the ones in the past that have died giving their life up to keep us free.

Snake wrestling

I wonder why my mommy always has to ruin any fun I am having. This morning she fed me and my sister Sabrina and put us outside to do our business and my sister is such a tattletale she starts barking like crazy and mommy who is doing the dishes looks out the window to see what the commotion is all about. Lo and behold she sees me with a 3 foot snake in my mouth shaking it around and around and Sabrina going crazy barking. Mommy comes flying out of the patio door hollering at me and it startled me so I dropped the snake looked at her saw she was okay and then I grabbed that snake again and shaking it all around and then mommy hollered again and I dropped it she told me and Sabrina to get in the house now and leave the snake. Drats I had to listen so we went into the house and mommy got daddy to come out and check out the snake he said it was only a black snake and it was still alive she told him to get it out of the yard. Daddy got the broom and took the handle picked up the snake and took it to our back lot far enough away from the fence so it would not crawl back in our yard.

Now mommy would not come near me while I had this snake in my mouth shaking it around and around. I was only protecting our turf that snake did not belong here and I didn't want him bothering anything.

They say us girls like fun but mommy's don't like what we call fun.

I gave my mommy a fright last night

Last night around 9:30 p.m. I let mommy know that Sabrina and I needed to go outside to potty. She got up and took us out and let us out the backdoor said she would be out shortly checking on us. She had to get shoes and a flashlight as it is pitch dark outside.

She came out about five minutes later hollering our names and Sabrina went running as soon as mommy opened the door. However, mommy kept hollering for me and I never showed up. She went outside with the flashlight and looked under her azillea bush where I usually go and hide but I was not there. She went behind the gazebo and the well house shining the flashlight and calling my name. She was really worried this is not like me. She walked the perimeter of the whole yard shining the flashlight and getting more worried by the minute. Finally, she found me behind the air conditioner unit gagging like I was having trouble breathing or had something stuck in my throat. She grabbed me and picked me up trying to rub my throat and my tummy and pat my back to have me spit it out if I had gotten a hold of something in my mouth. She immediately ran in the bedroom flipped on the light and asked daddy to help look in my throat to see if I had something caught. They could not find anything and then mommy began to worry that Yorkies are know for collapsed esophagus and she was afraid mine was collapsing and that I was going to die on her.
She kept rubbing my throat and tummy and patting me on the back as to burp me. Finally, I stopped the gagging and went under the bed to relax. Mommy did not sleep well she kept thinking I may lie under the bed and die on her before morning. However, today I was my old perky self and my mommy is reliefed.

I am so sorry mommy for putting you through such a terrible frightened ordeal.
