I learned to swim!!!!

Woowooo! Today I swam for the very first time!!! I have been to the beach and to little streams, but I haven't had a chance to go in deep water and swim until today!

This morning mom took me to meet my pals Moose, Bear and Cotton at the river and we all went swimming! It was soo much fun! I didn't know that water could get deep so fast and right away I "fell in" the deep part and went completely under water!!!! OMG! I was so surprised! I quickly scrambled to the shore and stayed close to the shore after that for a little bit, but then I started to get jealous of everyone else swimming out to fetch the floaties that mom and her friends were throwing in the river so Mom got in the river with me and helped me swim! At first I was nervous when I couldn't touch the bottom, but mom held me up until I figured out how to paddle and hold myself up and then I was swimming all by myself! It was so much fun! After that I was a pro...well...almost...I was still a little bit nervous, but if mom or Cotton's mom went in, then I felt safe and I swam around too! It was so much fun! The river is awesome!

Mom said she and Dad are going to go take tubes and ride down the river this weekend--I don't get to go with them this time, but next time I will get to go! That will be fun! Mom did say that we will have weekly playdates at the river on Monday and Friday mornings from now on with Moose, Bear and Cotton! Oh Boy! I am so happy! I love the water! And swimming is FUN!

Daddy's home!

whew! Its been a busy week and so much excitement! My daddy is finally home! He is in the military and has been gone for 6 long months! I wasn't really sure I'd remember him, because I was so little when he left...but as soon as I saw him, I was soo happy to see him! Boy, is he handsome! I follow him all over the house and can't take my eyes off of him! And he plays with me and gives me lots of lovin' too! At first, I did realize I was supposed to listen when he told me to do things--I thought he was just for cuddling and I am so used to mom being in charge of me--but now I am starting to listen to him to, which makes him very happy and I like making my daddy happy!

This weekend we are going to my grandma's house to visit. I love going to grandma's because Madison, grandma's mini schnauzer lives there and we play like crazy! Madison is older than me (she's 9 or 10!) but she keeps up pretty well for an old lady! And the kitties live there too! I like to run after them! Mom said we get to go to the beach too! I have never been to the beach and I can't wait to check out the surf! woowoo! I love to splash in puddles and little streams--the ocean should be an adventure!

And the best news of all--mom has been busy contacting breeders because she wants to get a brother for me to play with...we weren't sure what daddy would think but he said YES! woowoo! so, in a few months I might get a brother! oh boy!

First Dad says that he and mom need to build the dogrun/yard area...I am going to get my own yard! Dad is going to build a pergala or covered awning and put down a cememt slab and pull all the weeds and re-fill the dirt and add some pea gravel too to make the side yards nice for me...then he is going to add a mister system to keep me cool and put my kiddie pool and tether ball out there too! My yard will be bigger and nicer than mom and dad's yard I think! Dad said that me and my potential new brother will need our own yard to play in! woowoo!

Cool Morning!

What a cool morning! It wasn't too hot early this morning, so mom and I met the neighbor lady and her jack russell, Jack for some morning exercise. Mom and the lady did their "laps" around the track but Jack & I had so much fun! There was a nice breeze and the sprinklers in the ball field were all on so Jack and I ran and jumped through the sprinklers, splashed in the puddles, raced around the ball field chasing eachother, rolled, wrestled and had a contest to see who could dig up the most gopher holes (I think I won!). It was soo much fun! I was very muddy and dirty when we got home so mom hosed me down in the back yard and fluffed me dry with a nice big towel, then she gave me breakfast and I took a nap on the patio and enjoyed the rest of the cool morning....aaahhhh...sometimes its great being a dog!

the search is on!

Mommy is looking for a brother for me! I think it is supposed to be a surprise for my birthday in September so don't tell her I know...but I heard her on the phone and I saw some baby boxer pictures she was looking at! I think she is going to get a brother from the same breeder that my pal, Poe, came from! That would be soo cool, because everyone thinks Poe is fantastic and I want a cool little brother! I heard mom say we were on the "waiting list" and that a new litter was due in a few weeks! oh boy! oh boy! oh boy! I am soo excited but I have to pretend I don't know! I better be extra good and behave well so mom doesn't change her mind! this is hard!!!!!

Dad isn't too sure about a little brother yet, but I bet mom will convince him...she can be very, very convincing...and dad knows eventually she usually gets her way! LOL

As soon as I know more, I will let you all know! I do know that if I get a brother from this litter...mom is a dark brindle and dad is a flashy fawn...I want a dark brindle brother! we'll seee........

Its tooo early, Mom!

Today mom woke me up really early...I was soo tired and didn't want to get out of bed. Then I noticed she was filling up all my water bottles and had the big yellow bowl out too....I know what that means: DOG PARK! woowoo! We were going to the Dog Park this morning!

Mom had us get up early because it is soooo hot here in the Central Valley that she says we have to go at the crack of dawn if we want to run and play! We met my friends Elsa & Renin (their weimeraners) , Gypsy (husky) and Tally (lab) at the park at 6:30 and Renin and I ran and ran and ran! It was soo much fun! While Renin and I were playing on the hill, I tripped him and he rolled all the way down! It was so funny! All the moms laughed at him but he didn't even care--he's so goofy! Sometimes he plays too rough and bites me...I don't like that at all...but today he was just being fun.

I fell asleep on the way home. It was so peaceful--the wind was blowing in the window nice and cool and I was so pooped from playing. Mom had to wake me up when we got home so I would get out of the car! Heehee.

The best part--mom says we get to go back tonight too! Yippee! Two trips to the dogpark today! Boy, do I feel special!
