 Birthday: July 10th 1994
Likes: I love bossing around my brother, Rudy; laying in the grass in the backyard; eating Pupperoni treats; jumping on the lounge chair and sleeping on the porch; crouching on the picnic table; chasing neighbors who walk too close to the fence

Pet-Peeves: When my brother gets fed before I do and wants to play too early in the morning, and thunderstorms!

Favorite Toy: I like a little snowman toy my vet gave me!

Favorite Food: Pupperoni treats and anything moist and meaty!

Favorite Walk: I'm always running around in the backyard! I also like when my dad takes me by the woods and we trot along before sunset!

Best Tricks: I can really only shake and sit, but I'm very mild-mannered and always fun to be around!

Arrival Story: My older sister, Katie, got me from a classmate when she was only six years old. Katie picked me because I was the only puppy from my litter who didn't bite her legs! I kicked up my legs because I was scared, but I've been a loyal and loving member of the family ever since.

Bio: Roxie came to our family when she was only a few months old in July of 1994, where she had free reign of the back yard and spent all of her time being the kindest, sweetest and most devoted dog anyone could ask for. She lived a long and healthy life and was hardly sick a day before we woke on Oct. 21, 2007 to find her ill and disoriented. We sat with her until long into nightfall on the most beautiful fall day imaginable until she was too tired, and we couldn't blame her any longer. She passed that evening. We love her dearly and will miss her always -- you're with us always, Roxie Girl.

I know it's supposed to be April, but when Rudy woke me up with a rather violent tail nudge the other day, there was a fresh coating of SNOW on the ground! Let me tell you, pups, my doggie heart was all aflutter. I'm sick of all the cold weather and ready for the sun to shine! Now that I'm getting older, I'm all about tropical breezes and staying out of the rain.
Lately my family and I have just been running around the yard, having a good time. After the ice storm a few months ago, my dad had to rebuild part of the fence badly damaged by storms. Rudy and I spent the day on the porch watching all of the action, which was a little frustrating for a crazy lady like me! I love to run along the fenceline and bark at any passers-by.
Well, I'm off to see what my sisters are up to! Maybe they'll sneak me a treat or two!
Later pups!

Hey there pups! Long time, no bark! Things have been quite busy around the yard these days, with all the grooming for fall set to begin, the leaves changing, and tons of squirrels to be caught. Rudy's been on a rampage lately, chasing after anything and everything that can be tracked down. I'm saddened to report he's had a bit of success... I try to turn a blind tail to the whole situation!
I hope this autumn finds everyone well... we're going to the groomers next week, so my sister tells me. I can't wait to get some of this extra fur off my legs! A lady needs to keep in shipshape form, you know.
Everyone stay warm and dry! Farewell for now!

At the risk of sounding like a total old fuzzball stick-in-the-mud, some of the neighbor children were quite disruptive last evening! Here we are, a full month after the Fourth of July, and still I can hear the popping and explosions of fireworks in the backyards around the area. Fourth of July is certainly a nuisance to dogs everywhere, not to mention for people who are trying to get a good night's sleep when the clock strikes eleven.
My sisters certainly had some choice comments when the popping began... mostly because my oldest, Megan, has choice comments about everything. We're an opinionated group. Rudy usually keeps his yapping to himself, but I can also count on him to be honest with me in a pinch.
Last week was a major heat wave, and Dad did his best to keep us cool! Megan introduced me to a new phenomenon -- the "ice cube." She put it in my mouth and I had a good grip on it for a second, but it began to slip just as I was really crunching down. My mom suggested it as a "cool and refreshing" treat, and I have to say that I agree with her. Rudy was less interested; he let his sits on the turf for a while and gave up. I also got a good hosing a few times, then proceeded to run around with muddy paws and get my sister's shorts all dirty. Luckily it was laundry day.
I'm off to lounge about for a bit until everyone comes home from work. Ciao, bellas!
