Doggie Park!

I'm so special -there's a park across the street that's just for me! I run around and say hi to everypup and people always tell me how special I am. I'm so happy in my park and I run back to check on my mommy often to make sure she's having fun too.

One great thing about my doggie park is that I get to play in a swimming pool. Mom says we couldn't pack my pool in our suitcases, but this one is pretty good too. I can lay down when I'm hot and cool off, I dig in the water and splash about, I just have the bestest time!

I think I'm going to like living in Australia. Mommy says I'll miss playing in the snow and chasing squirrels, but she says I'll love the beach.

I'm all growed up!

Mommy says I'm a year old now! That means I'm a big boy now. I get to go to the lake and swim with my parents even. I love to swim. I figured out that I have to heep my mouth shut and breath through my nose to swim best. Also, gotta keep those legs moving until I touch solid ground again. Daddy even calls me his swimming buddy! I lvoe swimming best of all. And barking, but that makes me get put outside a lot so it's not as fun.

I'm healthy and happy and I'm loved by all my family. I'm making good progress for a pup from the pound!

What's a shell?

Mommy and Daddy say they are so proud of me. They say I am really coming out of my shell and adjusting to my new home finally. When they first brought me home I would sleep in the corner and growl if anyone came near me, even mommy or daddy. They would take me on walks to places where children were buying snowcones or sandwiches, but I would hide behind Daddy or sit under him. I was afraid of people; I was a lone wolf kinda pup.

But Mommy and Daddy loved me and cuddled me, and now I love being petted and I crave attention. I like sleeping with my parents a lot now instead of in the corner alone, and I'm happier too. I get to smell a lot more and go out more now that I don't just cower and hide. Some people came over to the house last week, mommy said it was because it was her birthday. There was lots of food and when all these people sat on my couch, I just jumped right up and sat on their laps! Mommy and Daddy were so suprised I didn't just run off to a quieter room and hide. And everyone there petted me and gave me lots of attention. I loved it.

I guess I just needed longer to know how a family works. My mommy and Daddy dote on me and are so happy I've 'gotten over' some of my past issues. Even the Vet-man complimented me when I got my last set of shots. He remembered me being all shy and timid, but not anymore!!!
