I might have a new home?!

A nice lady is interested in adopting either me or Fly!! We will be meeting with her and her dog on Tues. Wish us luck!!!

New picture

I just put up a new picture. It shows my bandage that covers my boo-boo (you can read about it n my last entry). It's the picture that looks like I have a pink bandanna on (that's really my bandage). There is only a small puncture wound, but I keep trying to scratch at it so my foster mom has had to put something over it so I can't scratch at it. My foster mom's dad is a paremetic so he helped her bandage me up. My foster mom says she might be able to take it off for good tonight if I will leave it alone!! It hasn't been itching as much lately, so I'm sure I can leave it alone. :o)

I got bit!!!

About three days ago, me and Blaze got into a fight (Blaze started it!!). Well, Blaze bit me on the back, so now I had to have that area shaved and I have to have antibiotics for the next week or so to make sure I don't get an infection. But my foster mom said that it's not a bad bite and that it will heal up in no time.

I thought I had a new home

A family adopted me yesterday. It was a really nice family. They had two cats and one of them had to take medication for his diabeties twice a day. Well the two cats were scared of me (I told them that I just wanted to be their friend, but they didn't believe me). The two cats hid in the house and the family couldn't find the one cat to give him his medication. So they had to take me back to my foster mom. They were really sad that it didn't work out, I was also sad, but at least I got to see my foster mom again. I really missed her. I'm going to go take a nap now, I've had a busy few days.

How I got into rescue

I started off life at a breeder's, then got sold as a puppy to a new family. This new family was great, they played with me and let me play outside I thought it was all great. Until one day when they said that I was going to close to something called a highway and that they were afraid a car was going to hit me (they didn't have a fence). So they took me to the pound. The pound is a very scary place, I was really scared there and just wanted out. Then this lady came in that day and looked at me through the cage. I did my best to get her to take me out, but she didn't and went down the line and picked up a little Chihuahua mix. She said she was picking that dog up for another foster parent, said that I was a really cute dog and went out the door with the Chi mix. I was so sad!!! I really wanted her to get me out of there. Then a few minutes later she came back and said that she couldn't leave me in the pound and took me to. I was so happy!! I tried to cuddle with her in the car, but she had me tied up in the back, so I couldn't reach her. She said that it was because she didn't want me to make her have an accident. Well we got back to her house and she put the little Chi mix in a crate in the house and brought me in and put me in a crate too. She said that she wanted to give me a little bit of time to get used to her other dogs before she let me run loose. A few days later she brought the Chi mix to his new foster home (he has since been adopted into a wonderful family) and I got to go to the vet. My former owners had told the shelter that I was UTD on shots, spayed, and house trained they also turned me in with a rabies tag so my foster mom called my former vet to verify everything and get my medical records. But, my former vet said that he didn't have any records of me being spayed and that I was almost due for my shots. So my foster mom took me to her vet and her vet felt my belly and said that she didn't feel a scar from being spayed, then they tested me for heartworms and said that I was possitive. At this time I had kennel cough from being at the shelter and so I only got my combo shot. They said I would get the rabies shot when I was healthy again. About two weeks later my foster mom took me back to the vet and this time I had to stay for three days to be treated for heartworms. Then when I got to go back to my foster home they said that I would have to be quiet for a while. So I couldn't run or play for at least a month. Then about a month later I had to go to the vet again for the second phase of heartworm treatment, but this time I didn't have to stay at the vet's. and about a week after that, my foster mom took me to the vet's again!! This time it was to be spayed and get my rabies shot, so I had to stay at the vet's overnight. The people at the vet's gave me alot of tummy rubs, so at least I got attention, but I felt sore on my belly. Finally my foster mom came and picked me up, I was so happy to see her!! We went home and now I get to run around the house with the other dogs. She say's that we can take the stitches out in a few more days. I'm still not alowed to really run and get my heartrate up high, but at least I can be loose in the house now. Now I just need a home of my own and a best friend to cuddle with. This is what my foster mom says about me: "Stella is a wonderful little girl, she is so friendly and loves all people. She can be a little snappy with other dogs until she gets to know the pecking order of the house, then she is fine with everyone. She is UTD on shots and she is now on heartworm preventive, she is spayed, and has been tested for worms (she was negative), and very healthy. She is also house trained, crate trained, and very well behaved. She is a wonderful dog in need of a best friend."
