Arrival Story:
My baby died of a bad heart. He didn't have a big enough heart for all the love he had to give. He's now in heaven looking down on us loving us with ALL his heart. Dakota was born on November 26th 2003 and left us on February 29th 2008. It was a sudden death. As soon as I find out why I will post it. He will be missed terribly. I loved him so much. See My Dogster plus photo book! Click under last picture Dakota used to live w/ my husbands parents, he didn't do well inside so they kicked him out. Dakota was a very "happy" kid! No one could get near him w/o him jumping on you or getting you dirty. That's when I decided to step in, take ownership and get him fixed. It made a world of difference. For the 2 years Dakota was at my in laws I kept him up to date on his routine shots and exams. I even took him for training classes to gain some control over him. From then on he just became my dog!? My husband and I bought a house and a week later my baby was w/ us!

Bio:
Dakota is an outdoor dog. I would love to have him inside w/ me everynight but we have a cat. A couple years ago when dakota was living at my in laws, thier pet duck got loose and well dakota got ahold of him. He pretty much ate him. I didn't see it but I herd it was pretty bad. I'm afraid that if I bring dakota in he's going to eat my cat. We go for 2-4 mile walks just about everyday. If dakota sees a squirl, cat, any small animal that moves (excluding birds) he has to chase it. Nearly ripping my arm off! I couldn't even imagine what my house would look like if I let him loose for a second. I wish some how there was a way around it but there isn't. So he's going to have to remain an outdoor dog. Dakota is a very very very loving animal. I love dakota as my own son! He is just a lot of work but I am willing to do anything for him to make him happy. When Dakota was about a year old his chain broke. We live in the country so he could've been anywhere! I printed out 100 flyers and put them up everywhere in town! Luckily someone saw the flyer who found him and we got him back the next day! Huskies are a very interesting breed. I joined this site to learn as much about them as I possibly can so if you have any tid bits or helpful information on anything what so every feel free to send it on over! "A hundred years from now, it will not matter the sort of house I lived in, what my bank account was, or the car I drove .... but the world may be different, because I was important in the life of the animals and the creatures on this earth." ~Author Unknown

Dakota left us at four years of age born on November 26th 2003 and passed on February 28th 2008. He was truely my baby boy and I will never forget him. We had him cremated and he sits on his very own table with us in our home. He was the best dog and my first dog I ever owned. He's the reason why I love huskies so much. So gentle and yet so much energy. He always put his head down for me to kiss his forehead. He loved attention and I loved to give him attention. I miss him so much. Kendra and his Daddy do too. I just can't believe he's gone. I know one day we will meet again. Until that day he will always be in my heart.
Dakota I love you baby and miss you. I know you are looking down on me from above. Wait for me baby. We will meet again.

Oh we haven't made a diary entry in a while. Today Dakota and I took a bath. Hair everywhere! Yuck lol. Then we put that awful smelling fly mosquito repelent on. That another one of his pet peeves. Makes him sneeze lol. It's cute. He tries running away from me the second I take the bottle out. Got him all nice and sparkling white. Cleaned his play/living area all nice and spotless. Put down some new bedding to avoid the dirt. We had a fun filled day today. We didn't go for a walk since we were cleaning all day but we're going to a doggie parade tomorrow morning! YEah!! We get to go shopping for all sorts of doggie goodies and we even get to eat lunch together on the lawn of a hotel! We're excited and can't wait. Hopefuly soon Dakota will have a little sister to play with and be by his side to love. That's all for now! WHOOOOOO

Oh that darn dad

So today Dakotas dad and I got into an argument becuase I hate the fact that my puppy is outside 24/7 365 days a year. To me it is very cruel and not acceptable. Everytime I go outside to feed Dakota in the morning before we leave for work I can feel his heart break every time I have to leave him. So his dad came up with the conclusion of getting an electric fence becuase our fence is only 4 ft and we live in a village so it can't be taller than that and when we're home let Dakota run free in the back yard. I said that doesn't help because he's still lonely so than he suggested a new puppy. I wan't Dakota to be happy and I do think that another friend will help him out but I don't know if I want to take the chance of feeling the same heartbreak with two kids. I suggested finding Dakota another family where he can be a happy indoor dog where he is loved and not lonely. But he says that's a stupid idea don't be stupid. So I'm at a loss I don't know what to do and if anyone has any suggestions I am open to anything. Dakotas dad was raised to believe that a dog is just a dog and they belong outside. I was raised to believe otherwise. HeLp!
