Arrival Story:
When my son was starting college he was very lost and we felt he needed a friend to come home to. We got Ben E and Jonnie soon cheered up knowing his best friend was at the door when he came home. The first day at home Benny ate Nettle and threw up all over his dads pillow. He was just a puppy so it was not so bad. He loved his Jonnie. My oldest son. He also love Robin, Jonnies Brother.

Bio:
Ben E was named after Ben E King because of the song "Stand by me" this was the song that my son felt kept him going. Ben loved his family and he was by Jonnies side all the time even up to the day he got married and Ben then became attached to Jonnies wife Sarah. Later on they had a wee girl Cassandra and Ben would watch over her. He became very ill at the age of thirteen with cancer and we had to make the decission to make his end comfortable and not painful. He passed away on the 14th November 2004. This was a sad day in the life of our family . Ben had been with us for so long and become such a part of our family. when I was having a bad day I would ask Ben if we could swap places and he would look at me with those big brown eyes and say "everything is going to be alright". Ben we will always love you and miss you. We have his ashes in a box with us and he will always be in our hearts.

A tribut to Charley

This morning when mum was taking Cassie to school she and some other mums found a very sick duck in the drain. We have a lot of ducks around here due to the river and the reserve. Christine got Charley( the name we gave him because he was found in Charlene Place) out of the big drain and put him in a box . Trish brought him to mum for us to take to the Bird lady who nurses them back to health.
Charley had been attacked by a cat and the ducklings with him had been taken and he was left there wounded and sick.
Mum cried a lot. ( as she does since she has been over 50, funny that) So she put Charley in a warm box with a warm towel put him in the car and took him to the bird lady. Sadly on arrival at the bird ladies house he had passed away. the Bird lady said he was very old and blind and sick and that he would have passed away anyway but that it was good we rescued him.
mum was sooooooo sad but was also glad that he had passed away in the warmth of
the back of the station wagon.
so this is my Tribute to Charley who came into mums life for just a short time but left an impact on us all. I will see Charley at the bridge
