Arrival Story:
We saw an ad in the paper for American Bulldog pups. Oddly enough, I was just reseaching the breed and really liked them. I had never seen an ad for them before that day. We went to meet the breeder, he was wonderful and fell in love with Ruby. We went home to think it over but the decision was really made before we even left. We picked up Ruby a couple days later.

Bio:
Ruby likes to pretend she's tough but she's a big softy (like almost all bulldogs!). She likes to test her limits sometimes by growling and/or barking at the odd stranger but she would never hurt anyone. She also the biggest cuddler. She gets so upset when her little brother Tucker goes anywhere without her. She even hates to go out to the bathroom in the backyard by herself. Sometimes she has no choice though because she has a small bladder (not to mention IBS!) and Tucker would prefer resting sometimes. Tucker always greets her at the door to welcome her back when she returns 30 seconds later. She lets our 3 year old daughter bug her endlessly.

Sadly, we had to find Ruby a new home. She was afraid of children and we have two. She loves her new home! She is the center of their focus at all times with no other doggies or kids to share anything with. We still see her sometimes too. She's doing great and is super happy and that's all we wanted. She will be missed though.

For those of you who don't know where the dog park is here in Windsor, here's a map: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=US &addtohistory=&searchtab=address&searchtype=address&address= 775+capitol+street&city=Windsor&state=ON&zipcode=&search=++S earch++

It's not exact, but you'll see Remington Park there and the fenced in dog area is in there.

I'm the good one...

Tucker had to stay overnight at the vet a couple weeks ago. He ate a sock and a glove. I told him not to but he doesn't listen! I was sad when he had to stay. I went right to bed when we got home. I tried to have fun and take advantage of being the only dog the next day when he was still gone. I got to follow my mom everywhere she went without Tucker pushing me. I got the couch to myself too!

As the day went on though, I really missed Tucker. Mom and dad wont cuddle with me in my dog bed and they don't wrestle the same. They say I'm too big for them! They don't go to the bathroom in the backyard with me. They wont lick my ears either. When Tucker got home I was so excited. I gave him so many kisses and he got a cool bandana that I like to pull on. I'm glad he's feeling better and I hope next time he follows my example and only eats cardboard and other food items.

On another note, my mom says I'm getting really good about going on walks. I almost never bark or growl at people anymore. I'm starting to realize that just because I don't know somebody, doesn't mean they are scary or will hurt my mom. I just really, really love my mom and want to protect her. She understands.
