Birthday: March 10th 2006 Likes: Cash loves to chew! He also loves to wrestle with his Aunt Boo, Grandma Aloha, and Grandpa Diesel. He also loves to go for walks, run at Sonic the Hedgehog Speed, and swimming in his pool. Pet-Peeves: Cash hates when no one will play with him! He also hates it when another member of his fur family has something he wants (ie - chewies!) Car rides are what he likes the least, though, because he still gets a little car sick. Favorite Toy: Cash loves Loofa Puppies! He is also a big fan of hooves and chewies. Favorite Food: Hooves! Favorite Walk: Anywhere he can walk (with) Jackson! Best Tricks: Swimming and being too cute for his own good! Arrival Story: Cash came to replace the hole in all our hearts after we lost HP. Cash is actually Diesel and Aloha's granddog. Cash's mom is a female from Aloha's first litter of pups and his dad is, of course, a Pomeranian. We found Cash "accidentally" once again at The Pet Connection in Macomb. He has since then become a prominent member of our family! Cash receives his veterinary care from Dr. Van Zee and Dr. Hillyard at Summer Street Animal Clinic Bio: Cash is becoming a great dog! Although he is still a little vampiric (bitey), and car rides make him drool worse than Pavlov's dog! - he is super friendly not only to other dogs, but also to other people. When walking, he wants to meet and geet every person and dog we see! He loves to chew and is also part fish! (Thank goodness for his plastic pool!) And although he is small, he can run really well with the big dogs! Of course, his theme song is "Ring of Fire" by his namesake, Johnny Cash! On July 20th, 2007, Cash's diary was featured on Dogster's Diary Central. Forums Motto: Cash-tastrophe! The Groups I'm In: The Poop Scoop The Last Forum I Posted In: Quotable Cash
My fur family and I enjoyed a day at the farm this weekend. We were very lucky because Mom and Dad took us to the creek to play (even though it threatened rain.)
We've had a lot of rain, recently, and the water at the creek was not super high, but deeper than it has been previously. This made for some great swimming!! The current was a little faster than usual, so we couldn't quite get back and forth across the creek as we sometimes do, but we all still had fun.
I followed the bigget dogs up the bank one time. My Grandpa Diesel jumped off the edge of the bank and I thought I would follow him in. All Mom heard was a splash. She asked Dad where I was because she couldn't see me, but she knew I had followed the big dogs up the bank.
Then, she saw Diesel dog paddlin' in the deep end. He was kind of struggling to swim out because the water was deep and the current stronger. Still, I was not to be seen. Dad climbed the bank and found me - just a dog-paddlin' away in a deep hole. When I jumped in, I must have done a cannon-ball because I was wet up to my nose!
I must have been afraid to swim out any further, because Dad said I was just a pawin' at the edge of the bank tryin' to get back out. But, the bank was too steep for me to climb, so Dad had to get down on his belly and pull me out.
Phew! What a relief! Mom was pretty scared, but once I was back on high dry ground, she couldn't help but laugh at me a little. I was one drowned rat! I had sand and silt in my fur clear up to my ears!
I let the little incident slow me down for a bit. I sneezed some water and romped around on the bank for a bit before I made my courageous return back into the water...in the shallow spots!
Yesterday, Mom tricked me into thinking I was getting to go for a walk. She got my leash out and lead my outside...HOWEVER, she then proceeded to put me in the car. (I hate this trick.) Even though Mom kept the air conditioning on full blast for me, I was still not a happy camper.
Do you know where she had the nerve to take me? Can you even guess?? Yep - she took me to the vet. Seriously. Although the girls at the clinic and the doctors gave me lots of pets and told me how cute I was, I was having none of it.
I got a clean bill of health from my doctor, and I got one pokey - my distemper shot. Afterwards, Dad took us all to the farm to play. I got back at Mom by getting super dirty. (I took a little trip to the pond all by myself, I did!)
Today, I am still sulking. My butt hurts from where I got my shot, and I refuse to let Mom pick me up, brush the burrs from my fur, or clean my dirty feet. I have even one-upped my level of rebellion by refusing to eat my breakfast this morning.
Mom is indeed a little worried about me, but knows I am probably just feeling a little lethargic from my vaccines yesterday. She told me that unless I straighten up today, she is taking me to work with her tomorrow - and that means back to the vet clinic!
I told her, though - if she hadn't tricked me in the first place, we wouldn't even be having this discussion!
Long time, no bark! I am excited to say that it is finally spring at my Dog House. It has been a very long winter for us! Although I sure loved playing in the snow, I am super excited about evening walks to visit my friends Dexter, Wrigley and Molly up the street - and I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my SUMMER POOL! (Mom says maybe I will get one this weekend. She had better not be joking around!)
I am especially looking forward to meeting and making new friends this spring as I've just lost one of my Best Friends - my Farm Grandpa. My Farm Grandpa sure thought an awful lot of me! He even let me in the house with him. (No other doggies got to go in the house!) Inside, Grandpa would share special treats with me. (No, Mom, you don't want to - or need to - know any more about these special treats! BOL!) Since we lost Grandpa late last month (4/20/08), we haven't been going to the farm as much, and that has sure been a disappointment. Although I am not very keen on the car ride to the farm, I love love love to play there! Since I won't be able to go to the farm as much any more, I am really keeping my paws crossed for that new pool! The weather is finally starting to get nice enough that stores have their new shiny blue vinyl baby pools out (I think they should have these year-round) and I can't believe I wasn't the first pup on the block to have one!!!
How many more days to the weekend, again?? Oh, Mom, don't let me down now!!!
