Arrival Story: Spanky was rescued from a life tied to a tree with no attention. He loves people and eats up any attention he can get. Unfortunately, he does not get along with Dryfus and it has proved very difficult to keep them separate. I have come to terms with the fact that I need to find him a home. I will only give him to someone that will make him a part of the family. He is a very affectionate and loving dog. He gets along with the rest of my dogs, but has a problem being submissive to my dominate male. He is good with children and walks well on a leash. I do not have to tie him up as he stays close and does not run away. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in adopting Spanky. Thank you.
Bio: I rescued Spanky after I moved to Florida for six months. I am told that he is an original "Florida cur dog" - I'm not quite sure what that means. However during my stay in Florida, I was disgusted at how the animals are treated there. I hope everything that I saw was more the exception than the rule. I ended up bringing Spanky back to Ohio with me because I couldn't find ANY shelters that were "no kill" or even "no time limit". Please, if you are a Florida resident, encourage your legislators to support animal-friendly laws - Florida needs to get with it!!
