Arrival Story:
I bought Lacey at a pet store. I never had intended to buy a dog from any "puppy mill", but I couldn't find what we wanted at the local pound or animal shelter. All the dogs these places had at the time were full grown, big dogs. My daughter and I had just moved from GA to IL. I was getting married to my high school next door neighbor, 25 years after high school! My daughter was 10 at the time and had a hard time adjusting to a new state, new schools and leaving her dad and big sister (who is 26 and married) behind, so far away. All she kept asking for was a dog. A dog would make it better for her. So, after much hesitation, I finally went out dog shopping. We knew we wanted a Siberian Husky. The only S.H. I could find were at the pet shop across from the mall. So, I figured, I saved a dogs life by buying her. She has been a blessing and a challenge for us. We didn't do any research on this breed of dog and had no idea how hyper they are. So, we made a few mistakes, but Lacey has been a real joy for us and we are so happy she is apart of our lives now.
