It's Mama's Birthday!

Today is my Mama's birthday. She won't say how old she is cause she's very sensitive about her age. I asked Mama how old she was and all she said was "I feel older than dirt." Mama talks funny like that sometimes. That must be an "old people's saying," I guess. Anyway, we all wanted to wish Mama a Happy Older Than Dirt Birthday!

Poor Mama

My poor Mama fell twice yesterday!! She fell down the metal steps at her work and landed on the concrete. She's okay ... just a bruised, busted elbow and ankle, but she said her legs went straight up in the air and she was wearing a skirt (blush). Of course, the first thing she did was make sure nobody saw her (they didn't ... phew). She said she would have been mortified if anybody saw her. She should have been named "Grace," short for "graceful."

Then, last night me, Brian, and Jason were racing down the hallway. Mama was coming up from the family room and we ran right into her and brought her to her knees. Now she has "carpet burn" on both her knees. We were really upset when we saw Mama go down and gave her lotsa lovin. I hope Mama has an easier day today!!

Holy Cow!! It's so hot here!!

I don't know what's happened to our weather, but all of a sudden, it's so hot and humid here! Pop went to turn on the air conditioning Saturday ... and it didn't work. So Pop called the air conditioning people and they said they would be out Sunday morning. It was easy to fix, so my Pop said. When they cleaned the furnace back in the fall, they didn't hook up one wire. I found a way to beat the heat even better .... I lay across the air conditioning vent in the kitchen and sleep. Mama said no wonder it's always hot in the kitchen ... woo hoo!!
