Likes:
To sit on the porch and guard the yard...and take a nap in the bathtub, it's nice and cool in there with the A/C running! Going for a ride in the car and sticking my head out the window

Pet-Peeves:
Getting my nails clipped; wearing my Doggles (mom makes me wear them if we're going on a long trip, driving fast and I want to stick my head out the window!)

Favorite Toy:
empty 64 oz. juice bottles

Favorite Food:
Wellness Core (because of food allergies)

Favorite Walk:
The Cowboy Trail

Best Tricks:
"Tricks? I wouldn't condescend to do a trick!" That's what I imagine Zuke is thinking when I've tried to teach him a trick. Basic commands, he gets and obeys, but I don't think he'd ever do anything else!

Arrival Story:
I saw my first Great Pyrenees six years ago and he was the best mannered dog I had ever met! However, I didn't want to run out and get a giant breed dog (or any dog for that matter) without knowing more about the breed, so I did my research and I came to the conclusion that I could handle a Pyr. Then I bought a house and got settled and surprised my daughter with Zuke. We got Zuke in December 2005 when he was about 10 weeks old. We drove pretty far to get him, but I told my daughter we were taking a road trip because I had some business in another state, but that she could come along. She had NO clue! I have to say that I did a pretty good job of packing up the necessities we'd need to bring him home without her knowing. The weather had been pretty bad in these parts and thankfully our friend Ken drove us all the way to get him!!! Eder Azukre means "beautiful sugar" in Basque. Since my grandfather is Basque, and since the Basque country is in the Pyrenees, I thought such a name would be fitting. In fact, the Basques have come to call the breed simply "Eder" or beautiful, which I think is just wonderfully appropriate :) We have loved every second we've had with Zuke and my daughter still says (at least every other day), "I'm so glad we have Zuke."

Bio:
Zuke is independent and a bit stubborn, which would make some people think he's not clever, but they'd be totally wrong. He knows what's going on, even if he doesn't seem to be paying attention. He is friends with two of our neighbors cats, and with their little poodle. He's not too keen on the bunnies that come into our yard, which is fine with me because they want to munch on my garden...but he chases them off :) Every morning when it's time to take him out, he makes the rounds to the bedrooms and checks to make sure everyone is home. On nights when my daughter sleeps over at a friend's house, he still checks her bedroom, and when he doesn't find her in bed, he walks to the bathroom to check there, then to the family room...he's so smart. When I drive off to work in the morning, he's looking out the window at me driving away, and when I come home for lunch, he's waiting there, too! We take him everywhere with us, and he LOVES to go "bye-bye," sometimes we just take a drive out into the country (which isn't too far for us) and let him stick his head out the window and sniff the country air. And because he is so well mannered, he's been welcomed when we visit out of town friends on the weekends and he's been invited back :) He's already changed our lives, and we will never be the same again. He's certainly the most wonderful companion we could have ever dreamed of having!

Winter's coming...

...and I can't wait! Mom says we're getting ice, but I don't want that, I'm anxious for the S N O W ! ! ! My little sister, Louise, was found on the side of the highway in the middle of winter, so I'm a little worried that she's not going to like the snow as well as I do...but I think that after a bit, she'll love to play in it as much as I do!

Whew, I'm lucky!

My little sister, Louise, got a bath tonight and I somehow managed to not get a bath! I could hear my mom struggling with her a little bit, I think she jumped out of the tub at least once, but that's because mom is used to me, I'm too big to slither past her.

Louise smells pretty good, though, but I think she's pouting a little bit. I can't blame her, I don't like the bath either...but it's totally not fair, because mom runs the blower on me, and Louise just gets to air dry.

Oh well, I won't complain about that much, because mom has her jammies on, so that means she's going to bed and I don't have to take a bath, at least not tonight. Hooray!

I now have a little sister!

Hey everyone, I got a little sister this week! Her name is Louise. She came with a name already, but we've been calling her Weezers. She's a cute little black thing and I'm so excited to have her here.

Sometimes she gets a little bit growly with me, but I'm a pretty laid back dude. When she growls at me, I just go flop down somewhere. I think she might be intimidated by my size, but that's just something that I can't help. I just figure that if I share my toys, and don't get mad if she takes my chewies, she'll decide that I'm alright all of the time. She's never lived in a house so she's getting used to everything, I know that it will take some time.

She's new here in my house, so I just feel compelled to sniff at her all of the time. I think this annoys her, but I can't help it, I always want one more sniff! Maybe I'll get over this eventually.

Anyway, I just wanted to share the wonderful news with everyone
