I am a terrible diarist! There have been so many changes since my last post.
First of all Oreo finally returned to us just before Christmas. He appeared in the backyard during a rainstorm. My parents were so happy to see him!! But he was so thin, and sad, and was scared of every little noise. I was glad he was home and tried to make him feel safe until he felt better.
Then, I started having terrible skin problems, and my dad took me to the vet. She says I have food allergies and we had to change to a limited ingredient diet. The food is ok but no more mooching from my parents....I miss some of the people food but feel much better. I also had an ear infection but that is gone now too. I think a shorter haircut is in my future for the summer. I am not a big fan of the groomer, but if it will make me feel better in the Florida sun, then I am all for it!
The biggest news of all is a new dog in the house. After Sadie crossed the Rainbow bridge, her boy was so sad. She had been his dog for his whole life.....nineteen years together. She was very old - 21 - when she died, and had been in a lot of pain. Andrew finally decided that he was ready for another dog. So we found just the right puppy - a pug named Cujo!! He is cute, I guess, but I am still not thrilled with all the attention he is getting. He is hanging around Andrew the most, and that is good, but sometimes MY parents play with him and I get jealous. I am sure it will all work out eventually.

I was minding my own business when my life was turned upside down!
First Sadie got sick, and she crossed the Rainbow Bridge leaving our family so sad. Then Oreo ran away! I used to have plenty of playmates, and now I am alone!
I do not want to be the only dog!! I need company. My human family has been extra good about more walks and petting me whenever I look sad, but I feel so alone! I hope that they decide to get another dog soon. I would like someone to hang out with when they are at work.
