Arrival Story:
I was volunteering at an area pound. ' Sabre ' was brought - he was a street dog. The interesting part of that was that he was 6 mths to a year old and was protecting another puppy of a different breed. He would not let the dog catcher near the other dog. When I saw him in the pound he was the most mellow dog in there. While the rest of the dogs were in an up roar he was laying down ignoring it all. The only time he ever reacted was when the dog catcher who brought him in would come in the area, then he would attack the fence. I thought he was 4 or more years old based on his size and disposition. As it turned out he was a puppy himself. My girlfriend at the time taught him to shake in the first 10 minutes and he as done it ever since without fail, in fact he seems to need to be told things only once and he learns them. All that to say, he is the best dog I have ever had.
