Arrival Story:
We got LilBit from a musher who had a team that was too fast for Bit. Since we were just learning how, we didn't mind a slow dog. Turns out that Bit likes being on my team, and is actually quite strong!

Bio:
LilBit likes to run point, but also has started to lead for me (suprise). He is a great, gentle giant and is very good inside with the cats and other dogs. He likes to be off by himself a lot - smelling the voles and squirrels that happen through the yard. And he can dig like no-one's business!! Anyone need a rototiller? Another point of interest is that Bit is a cancer survivor. In March 2003 he had a fist-sized soft tissue sarcoma removed from his leg and a smaller tumor removed from his side. It was a pretty involved surgery and we were worried that too much muscle was removed for him to run, but he proved us all wrong! All you out there with cancer - be strong. Don't give up. Sadly, our LilBit left us in October 2008. We had a normal evening, getting excited about a campout trip coming up on the weekend. In the middle of the night, Bit woke us up crying. He had bloat. We got him to the ER as soon as we could, but the vet was not optimistic about his outcome if she did surgery. We made the very difficult decision to let him go - now he can run wherever he wants on the wind. LilBit was a good boy and we will miss him terribly.
