 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: July 1st 1991
Likes: Laying beside the fire! Full body rolling in fresh snow.

Pet-Peeves: Not being able to see, being left behind.

Favorite Toy: Stuffed squeaky toys. He rips the squeaker right out of 'em!

Favorite Food: Strawberry tops, eats Canadae Senior with raw veggies

Favorite Walk: The trail at Wycolo seemed to be his favorite. Now he just likes to mozy around the yard sniffing stuff.

Best Tricks: Can find a stuffed toy anywhere in the house.

Arrival Story: Turbo had "retired" as a competitive racer and we got him from another kennel at the age of 11 to teach us about mushing. He ran lead until his eyes got too bad to see the trail ahead. He ran on my team until he retired himself from running altogether in 2006. He likes to go for walks in his harness still, and wants to go with us to train or race, but rides in the sled or waits in the truck where it is warmer.

Bio: Turbo is a SuperStar husky. His dad is known for saving his musher and team from a bear attack, and Turbo has run long races (300-700 miles) in Wisconsin before he came to live with us. He seems to really like running still, and has taught us and our team a lot about being a cool old sled dog. He is active enough that he doesn't have many aches and pains, but appreciates sleeping inside on cold nights now.
It should be noted that in October 2004, Turbo was voted best senior sled dog (over 10) at the CMM fall campout! We knew it all along!
Turbo now has a large thyroid tumor but so far is not bothering him too much, although his fur doesn't grow very well and he has a bit of a "teddy-bear-with-the-fur-loved-off " look. He is still my wonderful gentle old man with a spring in his step and a smile on his muzzle.
By the light of a full moon, Turbo set off on Feb 8, 2009 to find the trail to the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss him horribly, but are so thankful for his long life and all the many lessons he taught us. He was my first lead dog, and I am honored to have been a part of his amazing long life. He lived 17 years, 7 months and 7 days, and left giant footprints all across my heart. Safe travels, Turbo. I will see you again.
