Arrival Story:
Ginger came to live with me at the end of last summer. I had just lost my Codybear, who had been with me for 10 years. I found Ginger on petfinder.com. Her owners had to find a new home for her due to severe allergies and a new baby coming to live with them. I have fostered and rescued many chows/mixes, and I knew that when I was ready I would open my home to another chow baby in need. Ginger came from Long Island, New York and she has settled in well to her new home in PA. She has three little kitty sisters and soon she will have a puppy step-brother and step-sister! More on that later! I am Ginger's third owner, which is pretty traumatic for a chow. Even though they are known to be "one-owner" dogs, she has been sweet enough to "adopt" ME and has been willing to be my loyal best friend and sweetest girl.

Bio:
This picture is actually of Mommy's baby girl before I came to live with her, Codybear. I am scared of the camera and Mommy doesn't know why, so she doesn't have any pictures of me, but she's working on it. Maybe someday I won't be scared and I'll let Mommy take my picture.

Forums Motto:

Today my new Daddy called and told Mommy about a puppy rescue rally they were holding near where Daddy works (he works at an art gallery in Bucks County). So Mommy took me to see it, because she rescued me. But, Mommy sometimes forgets that even though I get sad when she leaves me, I'd kinda rather be home with my sisters, Nala, Minnie, and Jasmine. Just keeping things safe until she gets home. So, she took me in the car, which is ok, but I get a little restless and I think that bothers Mommy when she's driving on the highway. Anyway, we were in the car FOREVER, but then we got there and Mommy walked me in some nice soft grass. Then we walked over and there were lots of white tents and people and noise and DOGS. Everywhere I looked there was another dog. Big ones, little ones, all sizes. Sometimes dogs scare me b/c I don't know if they're going to be nice to me or not. Then, this big dog that Mommy said was a hound barked this really loud bark at me and it scared me. Mommy says I'm kinda little for a chow. So, I started shaking and hid behind Mommy. She knelt down and held me and then she took me right back to the car, telling me everything was going to be ok. I believe my Mommy. Then she left for a little while and I stayed in the car and took a nap. When Mommy came back, she had Daddy with her! And a new pretty! A pretty is a bandana for some of you who don't know that. And the pretty was for Halloween; it was black and had candy corns on it! Mommy said I can't eat candy corns, but I can wear 'em! I look pretty cute in it, if I do say so myself...

And Mommy had some yummy doggie baked treats too. So, we went home and I was really good in the car and Mommy and I snuggled on the floor while she watched her silly tv shows.

It was a good day.
