Hello!June 8th 2006 12:32 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I think being in Dogster will be great...I love friends, I love attention, and most of all I love treats...hope I get lots of BONES! Reilly is my new brother, cute and fuzzy, but real easy to steal treats from - a bit of a pushover. I really enjoy having him to romp with. Can't wait to get up in the morning to start! Don't think my human family really knew what was in store for them!
A Clean Start to the DayJune 10th 2006 11:21 am[ Leave A Comment ] My Mom brough me (and Reilly) to the groomers early this morning. It was pretty busy there...plenty of new friends to bark with! I guess I was my usual beagle self and got into some pretty lengthy conversations with the other dogs...oh well! Wore myself out and had a great nap on the ride home.

Boy can that Reilly be a pest. He's such a morning dog - so peppy and full of himself. Nothing like sleeping in under all the covers of a freshly made bed...just thinking of it makes me tired.
Bling BlingsJune 15th 2006 12:20 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Last night was my lucky night. Mom bought me a new collar, brown with pastel colored hearts all around. It looks so gggrrr-eat with my tricolored coat! Meg bought me a pink leash to match...I am so stylin'!
Beagle Talent and PreferenceJune 20th 2006 5:48 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Although to date my favorite toys are soft squeaky ones, my mom decided to encourage me to be more "main-line" dog, more like the millions of others who are part of the "Kong" establishment. She figured since I tear, mutilate and destroy my other toys, I must need more a more challenging chew. Well, she stuffed the thing with a COOKIE, and just to top it off, PEANUT BUTTER. What's not to like? I guess the smell was supposed to encourage me to chew the darn thing, but I showed her...I have the unbelievable talent of being able to make my tongue small enough to lick every delicious dab of PB out of that little-bitty hole! Being the encouraging, hovering, and obsessive mother that she is, she reapplied the PB, trying to get it in really, really deep...lol. Foolish woman...not even a challenge. I suppose she should've saved her money and just spread the PEANUT BUTTER directly onto the COOKIE. Then I could get back to the business of pretending that the squeaky furry thing in my basket is a SQUIRREL, and rip the silly thing apart.
Busy WeekendJune 26th 2006 5:59 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Mom took Reilly and me up to the wild north country of New Hampshire this weekend to visit our cousins, Louie and Zeus. Louie and I love to wrestle and play rough, but Zeus can be a bit of a worrier about wild play. Reilly initially jumped right in, but he's kind of small and backed off after a while.

Dearest Keeva,
Nutritious SchmitiousJuly 28th 2006 11:04 am[ Leave A Comment ] My mom is spending far too much time on this dogster stuff. She reads and reads about health and grooming and, groan, food. She was completely floored by all of the information available about dog nutrition. She has actually done a little research and found a place nearby that sells health-aaahhh-ful food. Now we're talking about a beagle - ME - whose favorite thing to eat is stolen muffin papers. My philosophy is, if it fits down the gullet, it must be good. I'll eat crayons, pencils, cardboard, it doesn't matter... I have never heard of a high calorie crayon, now honestly, have you? And it can make "business" a pretty colorful display. She should just save the green things she forks over to buy the stuff and give it to me. I bet it tastes a lot like lettuce...
Eat, Eat and Be MerryJuly 31st 2006 10:46 am[ Leave A Comment ] My mom found this awesome place really close to home the other day called The Barkery. It's a bakery for dogs and they use only good, healthy products and other low fat ingredients (like that matters to me!) Mom had gone in to get some Evo and she was pretty impressed. She said it was the place to be on a busy Saturday, and the people are encouraged to bring their hounds-I mean dogs-with them. The were so friendly and helpful. They have a website too (http://www.thebarkeryonline.com/) where you can order this great stuff online. She brought home cheese sticks for us. Yum :p. Even little Reilly was impressed, and food isn't his thing too much. Mom is still on this healthful food kick - thanks dogster - and looking for ways to trim my waistline. One good thing is she has been bringing us out for an extra walk every night right before bed, when it's cooler. I don't know about shaping me up, but I just love walking. The bad heat is moving in again, so I'm hoping those late night strolls will keep happening. Makes for pleasant squirrel-chasing dreams!
Hot Time in the Old TownAugust 2nd 2006 8:00 am[ Leave A Comment ] It's a hot one today. 90 degrees before 9 a.m. Ya know what that means? No walk. Not that I mind, cuz it's like breathing pudding out here - it's unreal how thick the air is! Even my little shadow, Reilly, is conked out on his cooling mat. Yesterday was mom's birthday, and I truly expected some cake, but nooooo, no cake for Keeva! I even tried drooling on her lap, but no go. She just laughed and gave me a hug...she knows me too well. She's really into this nutrition thing and trying to trim my waistline. Bother. Think I'll go find the other cooling mat and dream about cake.
