Family AdventureMarch 10th 2008 1:22 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Should have known something was up - mom and dad aren't usually the adventurous types. At any rate, they piled us all, yes all three of us, into the car at 5:30 a.m. It seemed like a good idea at the time, we all really love car rides, but after a while it seemed to be taking an awfully long time to get to McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts!. I mean like 3 hours later, they pulled into this crazy place by the side of the road where there were lots of cars and trucks and gas pumps, and I thought to myself, well, maybe the donuts here are special! Guess what - not a donut to be found. They just walked us around a bit and then made us climb back into the car. This happened several times over the next several hours, I mean, I'm not one to complain, but even napping got boring. 600 miles later, we ended up in New Stanton, PA, in the middle of nowhere, with near white out conditions, in a motel room. Do you know how small a motel room is? Not much of space for playing chase, let me tell you! I did look at the bright side, I could actually jump onto the beds. So I'm making myself all comfy on the pillows, and mom went to answer the door - for crying out loud! Who the heck do we know here! Maybe it was a pizza guy. But no. It's mom's friend RS with a little beaglie baby. Sweet little guy I was thinking...until it dawned on me. When RS finished visiting with mom and dad, nice visit, she then put on her coat, and left. Alone. I mean really ALONE. The little beaglie was left with us! I tried to call to RS - did ya forget sumpin? But no, they planned this. Mom and dad were in on it...can you believe that? They invited this jumping, rooing, eating machine into our family! On purpose. The next morning, we climbed back into the car, and placed this new pup next to me. NO WAY was I traveling 600 miles back home next to this guy who thought I was made for jumping on. Everyone was well aware of my state of mind. I got to sit in mom's lap. All I have to say about this weekend is that mom and dad make me much happier when they decide adventures are too much work.
My Own Little HouseFebruary 27th 2007 5:31 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Momma bought me such a cute little house for a bed. Cute, just like me! It's perfectly Reilly-size! I have removed the floor several times, just to make sure I can get it properly broken in. It's soft and cozy, there's room to turn around to take a nap in comfort. I can decide to either nap with my head looking out, just to keep an eye out for trouble, or I can turn my back on the world, and sleep completely inside alone with my dreams. Ahhh, life is grand!
Chillin' with ReillyDecember 7th 2006 7:26 am[ Leave A Comment ] Here I am all decked out in my snowreilly finery. We haven't actually had snow yet, but I can tell ya that virtual snow is darn COLD. I don't know why Mom won't let me take it off! Packages have been arriving with the man in the blue suit lately. Mom tells us to hush, but if he didn't ring the bell we'd have no reason to bark! She should just tell him to stop it with the bell so we don't get scolded!
Giving Thanks!November 14th 2006 3:55 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I've been such a luck lil guy. Dogster has provided an opportunity to meet doggies from all over, and they are all so nice! We play games at White Dogs Unite, gripe about our siblings at Not the Beagle and learn about delicious treats with Gibby at Home Cooked Foods. I don't get too much 'puter time cuz of the beagle, but I'll save that conversation for Not the Beagle. However, I just hope all my puppy buds who read this know just how thankful I am for Dogster and its members.
Beach OutingOctober 14th 2006 3:39 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Today was a great day! I went to the beach for the first time with mom, dad and keeva - it was amazing! There was water that chased you up onto the sand, lots of other dogs and people to say "Hi" to, and an amazing four legged animal with a big nose, long legs, and long swishing tail with a human riding on his back! I loved him. As a matter of fact, I loved him sooo much, I escaped from mom and chased him down the beach! Dad chased me for about 1/2 mile, but I got to spend more time with my new friend. I can't wait to go back...the water was cold and tasted funny, but it was so much fun.
Firehouse DogAugust 29th 2006 11:35 am[ Leave A Comment ] Wow! We got an email cuz one of us (we of course know who!) got picked for Firehouse Dog! I'm so excited! RRR-uff! I just know it was me cuz I'm so adorable, and I have a great smile and all - how could they resist?! Nothing against the beagle, of course, but there is just no way they would pick her over me - especially since two others from her silly group got picked - Jack and Millie. Why would they ever pick 3 beagles? One is hard enough to deal with. We have to wait for more information from the studio - I wonder if I should look into getting an agent - maybe Louis would be interested, after all, he is an attorney of some repute. I hope my groomer can travel with us. OOOhhh - I can hardly stand it - can you imagine, my face on the big screen - wow - I don't know how I'll be able to sleep with all of this excitement.
Time to Smell the RosesAugust 18th 2006 8:35 am[ Leave A Comment ] Well, the weather sure has taken a turn for the better around here. Yesterday mom and my human sister took us for a nice long walk through the park. It was awesome though because of little non-beagley legs not keeping up with Keeva, they bought me a stroller for me to ride when I get tired! They always bring along water, but now I can just hop aboard for a ride until I feel rested, then hop down to continue walking! I loved it. And since two of them were walking the two of us, I could take my time, more than usual, to sniff the plants and rocks more at my pace than Keeva's. It was a great time.
SighAugust 13th 2006 9:29 am[ Leave A Comment ] I had an appointment with my new vet this week, and I guess, all in all, it was ok. I have a yeast infection in my outer ear and need to have cream applied a couple times a day, but I have allergies that make me sneeze a lot, so mom has to give me allergy pills...don't much like them. I have it all figured out though. When she actually offers me a spoon full of peanut butter, it's a trick. Peanut butter is only ok when you sneak it, otherwise it contains a pill. And what's the problem with sneezing? It doesn't bother me at all. Sigh.
What's a Brother to Do?August 4th 2006 8:25 am[ Leave A Comment ] That Snoop Dogg group has taken over my poor little life. Have you seen Keeva's page lately? They are voting for king and queen this week and it's gone to the silly girl's head. I had to coax her off the white porcelain water bowl because she had it in her mind it was a throne...it's rather embarrassing. She also has been pawing through mom's and my human sisters' jewelry boxes to find appropriate, as she calls them, blings to wear should she be elected...sigh. It was bad enough when mom put the princess charm on her collar. One good thing about all this is that she's too busy accessorizing to be washing my face...maybe my muzzle fur can grow back in.
Fierce Protector of AllAugust 1st 2006 6:27 am[ Leave A Comment ]
I'm the man. No question. That rotten dog across the street had better not step onto my territory or I'll nip her knees off - after all, she is 4 times bigger than me - but still, I'll let her know who's boss.
