Leave a bone for Taxi R.I.P.

Nicknames:
NiNi, DooDoo, NiNi DooDoo, DooDoo NiNi, Little, Little Taxi, Little NiNi, Little DooDoo, Little NiNi DooDoo, Little DooDoo NiNi, Little-Little, She's a dog, Her Name is Taxi

Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

Likes:
To GO in the car, to follow you around and sit with you when you're on the computer (or you-know-where), chasing squirrels and kitties, naps, tummy rubs (she'll rub it herself if you dare stop), long road trips asleep on one of her human's lap

Pet-Peeves:
Having to stay home, baths, Abba, having the tip of her curly tail touched, when you DARE stop rubbing that belly, rainy days and wet grass, getting spritzed with cologne when she's going to a fancy party and she's got that "not so fresh" feeling

Favorite Toy:
She doesn't play much with toys anymore since Otto cornered that market...heck, she's 18! She does like a good rassle and a stuffed animal tug-of-war now and then.

Favorite Food:
A finicky eater, Taxi loves ARMOUR POTTED MEAT FOOD PRODUCT! It's made for people from people! Just kidding...we don't eat animal products, but there's just something about that ARMOUR POTTED MEAT FOOD PRODUCT that Taxi finds irrisistible.

Favorite Walk:
At the North Hollywood Park where Otto was found, because of the heavy-duty squirrel action.

Arrival Story:
We wanted a dog but at that time there was a dog size restriction in our building. We went to Neva Foundation and looked at dogs. One dog fell in love with us, but she was too big for the size limitation (sad when you have to pick an animal by size, but that's the way it was). Then we saw this little yellow dog, her tail hanging down. We liked the way she looked, she seemed out of place and shy. We asked how old she was. "Three," they replied, "and her name's Lila." She seemed like a good choice so we made our donation and put her in the car. It was rush hour in LA so we took Laurel Canyon, which is hilly and winding, and next thing we knew, she took a big steaming fear-crap on the back seat. She is such a lady that she was mortified and climbed into the front seat where she promptly puked all over us. Finally we got her in the house and she squatted and peed on the new carpet. Oh my god! Had we made a mistake? Was this an omen of things to come? Like when we took her to the vet the first time and the vet said "Dude, this dog isn't three, she's eight or nine." Well, a deal's a deal. It was a long process--step one? Change the name--but it was worth it. Funny thing is that when we got her her tail hung down behind her but there was a dent from it in the fur of her back. We couldn't make sense of it until a few months later when suddenly that tail went happily back to its rightful place, curled up over her back. She's been a fair amount of work but it has been worth it...besides having an animal is a contract for life.

Bio:
Taxi has worked in a number of movies (such as GONE IN 60 SECONDS), TV movies and commercials. She's an old pro. Taxi can be a fussy little dog, but sweet and loyal. She hardly ever barks, but when she does it's sharp. In doggy social groups she's usually top dog but she's mellowed out some in the past year or so. She's slowing down a bit, but still goes on long walks (we firmly believe that it helps her stay young) and only occasionally will go on strike and make you carry her. Fun Fact: She is the only dog we have ever met that when at a friend's barbeque, will walk away from a hot dog. Sadly, Taxi passed November 10, 2004. She has profoundly touched our hearts and those around us. 8/10/05 THANK YOU TO ALL DOGSTERS, CANINE AND HUMAN, FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AFTER SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME! 3/14/06 WE DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY THINKS, BUT TAXI'S ASHES ARE NOW IN THE TRUNK OF THE CAR SO SHE CAN GO! GO WITH US ALWAYS...SHE ALWAYS LOVED THE CAR, SO WE THOUGHT IT WAS THE PERFECT PLACE, PLUS WE'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHERE SHE IS....
