My Goodbye TailJanuary 19th 2011 4:58 pm[ Leave A Comment | 12 people already have ] Well we all knew that the day would come when I had to write my last Diary entry and it finally has. Do I have regrets? Sure I do, those damn cats are still coming over every night, Kyra is still messing up my toy box and I didn’t get to meet all of my Rotties Rule Family. I have spent eleven years on this earth and my first day sure as hell cancels out my last day. The joy I felt when I got my first sniff of the world outside of Mom and the warmth and love I could feel from my brothers and sister was a counter balance to the hurt and grief I put my pawrents through on my final moments here. But I did feel the same Love on my death as I felt on my birth. My first six months on earth were not joyous ones, life was hard and the people around me were very mean. They tried to make me a vicious dog but my spirit could not be broken. When I was saved by Shan, I entered the life of the blessed. He showed me that I could be loved again and that life was worth living. Life with him was a joy, I spent every moment with him and I learned to become a carefree dog. When I meet up with my new Mom I could tell that I had reeled in a big one with look I got from her. I would never have guessed that I would be living with her and Dad a couple of months later and that I would be with them for the rest of my life. One of my greatest joys in life was traveling and I got to go to a lot of places and meet a lot of different dogs. But the most wondrous thing that happened to me was joining Dogster. I now had two families and many brothers and sisters. My pawrents and I meet several Dogster members in the fur and we played lots of games on the computer and we got to help other members through hard times. As you all know, we Dogs take Love in payment for all we do and my bank account was overflowing with lots to spare. I wish to thank all of you who have followed me through my dairy and Rotties Rules activities, I also wish like to say good bye as I embark on my greatest journey. I’m wagging my butt as I look forward to my new adventure.
Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011 TailDecember 31st 2010 9:18 am[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ] On this last day of 2010 I feel that I should reflect on the past year. Sadly, I have lost some of my Rotties Rule family which I will remember forever and miss until I see them at the bridge. There have been new additions to my life as well. Some are new Rotties Rule family members, a new lil skin pup down the street and my new cousin Bo. My doctor visits have been mostly for preventative care such as checking my kidney levels and getting massages looking for lumps. My weight continues to be a constant source of conflct between me and the pawrents. I’m hungry and want treats and they want me to loose weight. I continue to ask for hiney lifts into vehicles and up onto the pawrent’s bed and sometimes onto my ottominium if I’m just too tired. My mileage log has increased with trips to my regular haunts such as Carmel, Rio Vista and Lake Tahoe. I have also increased my adventure diary by visiting a winery in Sonoma and checking out the farms in the Apple Hill area. I plan to continue to increase my adventure diary since Mom retired this year so I am now lucky enough to have both pawrents with me 24/7! I continue to visit my dogler park, Pt. Isabel for walks and spa treatments but not as much as in previous years. I am now a regular in my neighborhood walking with my friend Kyra and our pawrents. We certainly are a force to be noticed since we are both rotties and the neighborhood kittys watch us intently as we stroll by. I had the good fortune to be able to attend the “Dogster/Catster Meet And Greet In California” which was held in Petaluma and was even able to tour Dogster HQ. I meet many new friends at the gathering in Petaluma from places far and near. I also went to an Oakland A’s baseball game with my friend Susie Q and her pawrents. Stanford football had a winning season so that made going to one of my Dad’s tailgate pawty’s so much more fun! I even made a couple of new pup pals there too, Buster and Blazy! This month I also marked my 11th year on this earth which I celebrated by visiting South Lake Tahoe and staying at the Fireside Lodge and playing in the snow with innkeeper Kona who was celebrating her 6th birthday. A fun time was had by both of us I must say! As I say thanks for the memories 2010 I say bring it on 2011!!! And my first new adventure is already planned! I will be visiting some of my Rotties Rule family in Yuma, Arizona and San Diego, California as we take a little road trip south! Watch out 2011 here I come wagging my butt in anticipation!
Big Girls Don't Cry TailDecember 28th 2010 4:36 pm[ Leave A Comment ] And that’s why the pawrents knew something was wrong this morning when I cried if Dad touched my right ear. I’m usually the strong silent type and so it’s very hard for the docs to find out what’s wrong with me. But this morning I couldn’t hold it in any longer. The pawrents jumped on the phone to call the doc but found out that the office was packed and the wait would be at least an hour and it was 11am and that would be into the lunch and so on. I figured I was off the hook from going to the doc and said a little thank you prayer. I was expecting to run errand with the pawrents anyway so didn’t think much about it when we all climbed into my Princess Mobile and got on the highway. But when we pulled up the Emergency Hospital that I had visited before I just had to give in. Before they would even look at my ear, but first I had to be humiliated by being placed on the scale. 105.1 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mom was shocked and Dad just rolled his eyes! I tried telling them that everyone gains a few pounds during the holiday season but nobody was listening. Then we went into a nice little room where some young girl came in and stuck a probe in my hiney! EXCUSE ME!!!!!!! It’s the other end that’s having a problem! She left and then a doc lady came in and looked at my ear and said she felt something and I would have to go into the back and be looked at more closely. She mentioned it might be a he-man-toe-man like Dante had earlier this year and I must say I was a bit worried that I might be going home with an ice cream cone stuck to my head. I had teased him pretty bad and thought this was going to be pay back. Once in the back I thought they were climbing inside my head and then they asked me to explain the puncture wounds! What puncture wounds? I wouldn’t confess to knowing anything about them. So they gave me some anti-biotics for an infection and some pain meds so it wouldn’t hurt so much and cleaned up my ear. And they said to go to my regular doc if I start shaking my head a lot. The pawrents suspect I got attacked by one of the kitties roaming through our backyard. I know what happened but I not telling anyone! Dad said that at my age anytime something like this comes up I’m going straight to a doc. So I’m a little drugged right now so please pardon me if my butt wagging is a little cwazy!

It's Wednesday's TailDecember 15th 2010 8:23 am[ Leave A Comment ] Well my resolution hasn’t worked out as well as I thought! Mom says ‘I told you so’ but I don’t care, I’m still doing better than I used to. The holiday season sure makes me busy. Let’s see what did we do first. Oh yeah, one morning we got up and went out for breakfast. After breakfast we took a nice country type drive and then stopped at a Christmas tree farm. I helped the pawrents pick just the right tree for our home and once we got it decorated I truly believe I picked the PERFECT tree! Then I helped Dad decorate the front yard and now it looks like I live at the North Pole! BOL! We’ve had some rains on and off so it’s hard to plan walks, we just kinda go when we think it’s gonna be dry. I’d really like to walk the neighborhood after dark to see all the pretty lights but it hasn’t happened yet. I celebrated my 11th birthday with cupcakes and turkey sausage! Mom says now I need to head back to my diet but I think no pup should diet during the holidays. I stayed with my friend Kyra down the street while the pawrents went to Disneyland. They said I couldn’t go cause I didn’t meet the height requirement! This morning Mom woke me up with the words ‘adventure day’. I saw her packing bags and even my bag was packed up. I’m hoping that I’m not being dropped off at a babysitter somewhere cause I just love adventure dayz with my pawrents. I’ll report back one I figure out what’s going on. Until then I will be wagging my butt by the front door so I don’t get left behind.
Thursday's TailDecember 2nd 2010 3:28 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Hello Thursday! I was soooo busy yesterday morning. A black and white kitty kat thought it was okay to come into my backyard and hunt birdies. No way not on my watch. I had Dad come out and back me up when I first saw it and then making sure that it was no longer in my yard I went back inside and got a cookie for doing such a good job. Just as I was kicking back on my ottominium and watching the world go by I heard ‘oh no, it’s back!’ So I flew off my ottominium and flew out back and this time that kitty kat was stalking my squirrel buddy. Only I can bother my squirrel buddy! Once again I made my rounds and verified that the kitty kat was gone and came back inside for another cookie! For the rest of the day I was on alert and couldn’t relax. Mom thought it was pretty funny and said that’s the most she’s seen me exercise in days! I guess that wasn’t enough for Mom cause later in the day she dragged me around the corner to the postal office so that we could mail a few things. I dragged my feet all the way to the post office and had Mom kinda worried that I wasn’t feeling well but once she said we were headed back home boy oh boy did I pick up my pace, and trotted all the way home.
My December Resolution TailDecember 1st 2010 11:14 am[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ] Okay, Since it’s December 1st I have decided to make a resolution to make a diary entry at least once a week. Mom says resolutions never work (she should know! Hahaha) but I’m gonna give it a shot. Well since my last diary entry we’ve had a major change in my house. My Mom retired and is home with me all the time now! It’s been pretty great cause I no longer have to eat my breakfast in the dark before she goes to work and I’ve been getting a new meal during the day called “LUNCH”. I didn’t know about this meal when Mom was working and Dad was home with me all day. I still go to daycare once a week cause I love my Bonnie and the pawrents say that I will still need to stay with her in case they take a trip where I can’t go. Me and the pawrents have been taking day trips to fun places which is pretty fun. We’ve had a picnic in Wine Country, dinner at my favorite restaurant in Carmel by the Sea, played on the river beach in Rio Vista, and gone to Gold Country to visit farms and have fresh apple pie! I also get to go along with Mom when she runs her errands. I must say that I no longer have “me” time to just recharge my batteries, I’m always on alert to protect her and make sure I don’t get left behind! Dad has been spending a lot of time down the street working on a friend’s construction project so sometimes I go with him but only when Mom’s not at home! I’ve been pretty lucky (knock on wood) with no major medical issues but still get my blood checked for kidney problems and I’m really enjoying the homemade food that I get now. This is a pretty busy month for everyone including this pup. I need to get working on my Christmas cards that I’m sending out, then there’s my Rotties Rule Seceret Santa exchange that I need to get ready for, and I just found out that I will be taking an overnight trip this month to Lake Tahoe to celebrate the fact that I will 11 years old this month!! And that’s not even counting Christmas Eve at our house with family and Christmas Day with the family at Granma’s. There will be many walks around the neighborhood with my pal Kyra and maybe I can convince the pawrents to head to the doggie park for some leash free walks. I’ll let ya know how it’s going cause as long as I can wag my butt I should be able to write in my diary!
Summer TailsJuly 28th 2010 10:07 am[ Leave A Comment ] Hey there puppers it’s just Me, Bunny with an update to my diary. To start with Mom and Dad left me at Bonnie’s house for three weeks for most of the month of June. They went and took a cruise in the Baltic Ocean, where the heck is the Baltic and if it involves balls why couldn’t I go? Oh well I had a great time anyway being at Bonnie’s. I was head dog the whole time I was there because I’m Bonnie’s favorite! Kyra’s Dad came and got me on the 27th of June and took me back to their house for the day. Later that day Kyra’s mom tossed me in my princess mobile with all the seats in place and we took off. I kept trying to ask her what she was doing with my pawrents car and where was she taking me, she just kept smiling and saying your in for a surprise. We got to this place that had a whole bunch of airplanes around it and a big sign that said SFO. As we came around the corner I saw my surprise, there was Mom, Dad and my friend Jeff all waiting for us, I couldn’t help it but my nubby was going to town and I couldn’t stop my butt from wiggling. Dad threw all their luggage in the back of the truck and them him and Mom climbing in the center bench with me. I laid in Dad’s lap all the way home and Mom rub my head the whole way; it was real nice to have them back. When we got home I got an ice cream to remind me why I love it so much at home. It was quiet for a couple of weeks with Mom going back to work and me just hanging around with Dad. On Thursday the 8th of July just as Mom came home from work Dad started up the motor home and I was in for another surprise. The three of us took off on the road for points unknown. Well we only drove for two and a half hours and went to the end of Monterey Bay at a place called Moss Landing. When we got there we meet up with Grandpa, Step Grandma and Sandy their dog. The nice thing about Moss Landing during the summer is that it’s usually overcast, cool and foggy. After dinner we took a walk to the beach where on the way we saw some seals in the harbor area. Do you know they look just like us but they have flippers instead of legglers? It was fun playing in the surf and rolling in the sand. The next day Aunt Lolo and Uncle Norm showed up on their Motor bike and I did my little happy dance to greet them. They spent the next two days with us and we went back to the beach several times. The whole time we were there the sun never came out, talk about a doggy paradise. It was a little sad to go home but it was also nice to be home. The quiet life came back over our household and I settled back into my daily routine. My weight is down; I have to check in at the vet’s office every afternoon after a day at Bonnie’s. I’m now down to 97 and all the test results for my Kidneys are all well within the normal range. Last weekend I got to do another fun outing with the peeps. I went to the dog days of summer at the Oakland A’s game. We got there just after five in the afternoon and my friend Susie was there with her pawrents. We got bandanas and treat bags and there was some shows where pups were dressed up and did tricks. I’m to mature for this stuff so Susie and I just watched while the peeps ohhh and awhhhhhhed. When we lined up to do our parade around the ball park guess who we met? That’s right Lucy and Laurie from Dogster HQ and they remembered me that was so nice. Oh I forgot to tell you I was voted the Dog of the Week for Dogster, but I was at Bonnie’s without a computer so I was unable to thank anyone or gloat in my fame. Mom and Dad did thank Laurie and Dogster for me so all was well. We took our walk around the ball park and it was a lot of fun, there were 600 dogs there and it took us a while to get around the field. There was a lot of people waving and pointing at us and there was even some ball players looking at us. There was a player in the A’s dugout rubbing down some balls and I wanted to go over and ask him for one, but dad said that they needed those balls to play the game and I couldn’t have one unless it was batted to me. After the parade we went up to our seats out in the field. Unlike the San Francisco games this day was nice and cool so it was very comfortable for me. The A’s were playing the Chicago White Sox and sorry to say they lost 5 to 1. They have big TVs over the scoreboards and they were showing pictures of pups throughout the park but I never got picked, some much for being famous. We are now just one month away from Mom being retired so I’m seeing a lot more trips in my future; I’m trying to talk them into another Rotties Rule Road Trip. My next update might have more news on that prospect so until then I’ll wag my butt in anticipation.
Bad Day for This Pup TAilMay 3rd 2010 6:36 pm[ Leave A Comment | 4 people already have ] Well it wasn’t a good day for this pupper! Ya see I’ve been doing a lot of panting lately and mom being the worry wart she is decided it was time for me to go to the dogtor. It was also time for my regular blood check too. Well for any pup that’s ever gone to the dogtor ya know the first thing they do is make you get on the dreaded scale. I thought I pulled a fast one because I jumped up and off so quick they couldn’t read the numbers but mom made me get back up so I leaned up against the wall to take some weight off the scale but mom knew that trick too. So I finally caved in and they got their number….109 pounds!!!! Boy oh boy was mom glaring at dad! Well if that wasn’t humiliating enough then I got things stuck in my ears, up my hiney and my lips and eyelids pulled. The dogtor put that little round thing all around my belly, chest and back while mom was holding my mouth closed. Then I thought I was getting acupuncture cause he kept sticking me with a needle until he was finally able to fill up a container with all my blood! Finally, I was done and ready to go but my pawrents talked to the dogtor about the ‘D’ word which I didn’t want to hear anything about. I heard them talking about cutting back on treats and the amount of food I get. Thank dog nothing was said about my Frosty Paws! When we finally left the dogtor’s office we stopped at the shopping center so mom could pick up a few groceries. Well by this time I was panting up a storm so dad let me sit on the grass with him in the shade until mom came back. I won’t tell anyone what made me do it but while dad was sending mom a text I walked off (dad says it was only like 2 seconds that his eyes weren’t glued on me). Now for those of you that know me, ya know I do not leave my pawrents for anything and I do not like parking lots. Dad freaked out and started yelling for me and somehow I had found my way to a row away and was looking for him or mom but I heard him and boy was we happy when we found each other!!! Dad quickly put me in the Princess Mobile and stood outside it waiting for mom to come back. All the while mom is inside the store totally unaware of the drama going on outside!! I’ve learned my lesson and dad has learned his lesson and mom swears she’s not going to leave the two of us alone in a parking lot again! BOL! So until the diet starts taking effect I will continue to wag this heavy ol butt!!!!
D/C Magic Tail Part 4April 29th 2010 2:00 pm[ Leave A Comment ] I got up pretty slowly on Sunday morning cause it took awhile for all my body parts to wake up! There seemed to be lots of activity in the campground with everyone packing up and getting ready to hit the road to go home. Once again mom thought I needed a walk so we took a short one (thank dog!) and wound up going over to the picnic area. It was all empty and kinda sad looking without all the happy pawrents and pups. We said goodbye to Mia’s family and the Roo Crew and jumped into the pickup truck (we left my RV at the campground to pick up later) for our drive to HQ. It was pretty warm so the wind through the windows felt real good. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and saw all the activity out on the bay and surrounding beaches. It was a busy day in San Francisco because of the nice weather so there was a good bit of traffic. Thank dog for GPS because we didn’t know where we were going! We arrived at HQ a bit after 11am and greeted the other pawrents and pups that were there. Guido the Italian Kitty was also there in a backpack on his mom’s back! I found shade right away and didn’t want to share, mom said I was being rude. The pawrents were once again taking tons of pictures and mom was sharing my water with the other thirsty pups. I had moved over to the picnic table that dad was sitting at and went under it for the shade. I was the only pup that howled when a siren went by! Lori brought out big bowls of water for all the pups while we waited for the last pup to arrive. Once we had all arrived Lori led us into the building and up a flight of stairs (whew!) and then down a hallway. I saw the sign on the wall and when the door was opened there was a bone shaped rug at the entrance! Notice that it wasn’t a fish or such for the kittys!!! It wasn’t a big office but not tiny either. There were partion walls making for small desk areas in the big area. Each desk had its own personality and there were dog toys scattered about and a few doggie beds too! I sure wished one of my pawrents could work in a cool place like this. They have a couple of conference rooms and Guido took over one of those as his own. I guess he came out of the backpack to meet some of the pawrents but I sure wasn’t going in there if he was loose!! Mom took tons of pictures and it started to kind of embarrass me, I was playing it very cool (just like a rottie should) so no one could see how excited I was to be in THE HQ office! They have a small kitchenette area, really just a refrigerator and counter top so the D/C Magic cake was left for them to enjoy. Lori was very friendly and let us linger as long as we wanted. She even asked the pawrents if they had any questions, concerns or complaints. I didn’t hear if anyone said anything cause I was just taking it all in laying on the floor of my Dogster Headquarters next to Bonzer & Sara. I wonder if all the pups belonging to the employees came in on Monday and smelled all of us that had been wandering around their space? Anyway it was time to leave and the pawrents gave hugs all around and us pups said ‘see ya in Dogster’ and then before I knew it we were back in the truck and headed back to the KOA in Petaluma. It was really warm so when we got back to my RV we all had ice cream (Frosty Paws for me!) and then took the short drive home. A fantastic time was had by me & my family and look forward to participating again. I want to thank everyone that put so much time and effort into planning and pulling off such a great event, I happily wag my butt to ya’ll!
