Arrival Story:
We got Rocky used. My wife and I decided that it would be "fun" to get Mina a little brother (notice how I put the word "fun" in quotations!). She wanted a Boxer, however, browsing through the local shelter, I saw this bright-eyed dude: Pitbull mix, brindle in color... I knew my wife wouldn't like him. But, being the soft-hearted fool I am, and seeing this little guy in jail, I decided to get him. Like I said, we got Rocky "used" and he's quite the fixer-upper. Seeing how he behaves (very submissive when repremanded) somebody must have really given it to him in the past. He is a VERY good dog, making my spoiled Mina look pretty bad. My wife has grown to love him, and she's submitted to his cuteness, so now we are one big happy dog pack. Mina is SUCH a girl, and Rocky is SUCH a boy, the contrast of the two makes everyday a humorous affair. He is super loyal, and although there is still a training curve and a couple of more vet visits, he will make a super companion and a wonderful brother for Mina. *UPDATE* Rocky is doing awesome. He's definetely found a place here in our home and hearts. He's put on some major muscle and all the medical issues we had when I first adopted him have been resolved. I have never met a dog who smiles until I got Rocky: it's as if his smile is built into his face! My boy is so tame and playful, I jokingling call him "the big, bad pitbull". It gets even worse when he and his Doberman buddies go frolicking through the dog park LOL. He and his sister, Mina, are buddies for life, and HAVE to be with each other at all times. Rocky is definetely a gift.
